The other unit that I have tried is a transcoder made by Key Digital Systems. My one fault with the 2 units that I had, it drove the output levels way too high, which is probably ok when using a single source since you can adjust for it, but did not work for me since the job had multiple sources through switchers. It would have been impossible to adjust relative differences.

Also, even though the RCA VHDC-300??? and the Audio Authority transcoders are supposedly the same, I have had situations where 1 worked and the other did not. The RCA version also gives you horizontal position pot and power LED. I think that the last of the 3 options on the DTC-100 is designed for the transcoder. It tells you in the description window to the right as you select each retrace timing.
