If I go to the motorized gate page I can
see if the gate is open or closed. And on and on and
on. I'm not displaying this stuff because I'm an integrator
that "loves 2-way feedback". I'm displaying it because
it's integral to the system.
QQQ certainly doesn't need any validation from me, however I will second at least this one example.
The "gate" senario is the perfect example why any system that uses the term "automation" must have 2-way communication. As an end user, if I spent the money on a HA system but still had to climb out of bed to confirm the gate actually did close every night.....? What the hell is the point?
Personally, I would, and I think any that had this type of security aspect to their HA system would want the real world feedback that the gate had reached its closed position and the alarm was ready to be set, (if not already done so).
You may be able to argue with "ignorance is bliss" approach concerning volume/lighting feedback, but when it comes to peace of mind of the consumer and family. You'd better be able to put up, or differentiate your self from those who can. Not claim to be in the same league.
