I had a client about a year ago who was looking at these. She didn't get them, so I can't say if they suck or not. I'd hazard to guess they are better than bose though.

Anyhow, the point to my posting is that they do offer an in-home trial or something like that. Check the 'satisfaction guarantee' link. If he really wants to try them and doesn't like them, all loses is your labor costs for the install/breakdown.
