1) There seems to be more blank space between each pixel on the MX-1000.
2) The "darkness" of the LCD isn't as good as the Pronto which, overall, isn't anything to write home about itself.
3) The screen background of the MX-1000 is also a little bit darker, making it harder to see.
4) I have one MX-1000 with what appears to be a different screen than I assume is the normal shipping model -- it has a brighter, less yellowly background that is completely smooth (the other seems to be "textured"). There seems to be better separation of colors -- light gray is very nice -- and I'm not sure if it's an optical illusion or not, but there may be slightly less space between pixels. Overall I feel it's easier to see.
