DVI-A: Analog (not common, pins on the side around the wide horizontal blade) DVI-D: Digital (no pins on the side) DVI-I: Both DVI-D & DVI-A in one
Dual vs Singal link: DVI-D and DVI-I can be single or dual link. Dual link cables will have all of the main pins present, however these are only truly of use if you are using a dual link device (such as a high resolution LCD monitor - I believe singal link will only allow up to 1600x1200).
