I have a DVP-CX985V, but would guess it functions with same IR commands as the 995. With the remote in DVD mode, press the ENTER button (there are 2 ENTER buttons on the remote ... use the one near the top). When you press the correct ENTER botton, the disc number on the player goes to "-". Use the number keys to directly enter the desired disc slot number and then press same ENTER botton again. The player should go to the disc you entered and begin playing. This command string should work even if the player is starting to play another disc (no need to press STOP and wait forit to stop before entering commands to go to desired disc).
