Unfortunately, you are right. You will never be able to learn any of its codes. It turns out that the 1015g is a visiontouch receiver, which uses a VERY high frequency remote:( No learning remotes currently on the market can learn those codes. I ended up buying a sony 50es -extremely great receiver - you won't believe the difference in the sound quality over the 1015g- especially if you have good speakers. I also considered the Yamaha rx-v995. This is also an excellent receiver with one advantage over the 50ES - it has 5.1 inputs, the sony doesn't, although SOny is revamping its entire receiver line this summer and will add the 5.1 inputs. I bought the SOny because a friend works there and got me an unbelievable deal.

TIA - if you have any questions about my response, e-mail me as I usually don't use this message board. (I'm a pronto user - flame away)
