I first bought TC1000. Its IR range and small IR window forces you to point the remote at the device that you are trying to control. This made macro almost useless. I can't move my arm as fast as the macro runs :-).
I replaced it with Pronto. Now my four-year-old daughter can enjoy my Home Theater system too. I have PBS, DISNEY, VCR, and DVD logo on it for her. By pressing any of the logos, macros will set all the related equipment to the right mode. She does not need to lift the remote from coffee table.

If you like gadgets, it is also much more fun to program pronto than TC1000.
