If you have the book that tell you everyting the remote has, and it doesn't list Clearview, well chances are very high it's not going to work with Clearview.

Are you sure Clearview is the original manufacturer of the cable box? Perhaps it is rebranded from someone else. If there is no "auto scan" mode on it, try going through all the Cable Box codes in the book... yes, I know that's slow - but it might be the only way.
