The 15-1994 has two seperate memory banks for programming. the first is for learned commands (ie, using 975), the second is for programming advanced codes, setting up macros, etc.

If you found device codes for your VCR and DVD player, but still went ahead and learned some missing buttons, you were wasting precious learning memory on functions that you could have programmed using advanced codes.

There is enough memory to learn about 24 buttons, and program about 45 buttons with adv codes.

It sounds like you need to reset the remote and start over. To wipe out all of the functions that you have already learned, use the 980 command.

Then, check the adv code section of my site to see if I have the adv codes for the missing buttons for the VCR and DVD.

If you are going to have to learn all of the receiver's buttons anyway, why not put them on the 'Plug & Power' device key, that way you'll have a 7 device remote!

it doesn't matter what kind of device button you use (ie, TV, VCR, etc) when you want to use the learning feature. Maybe you're holding the original remote button down too long, try using short bursts of the original remote instead of long bursts.
