Wow!! I would have read this entire thread if I didn't have to go to class in an hour!!
Anyway, here's my question....
My problem with universal remotes is that I don't have a true "receiver" in my HT setup. I have the audio from all my components (VCR, Toshiba DVD, cable) going trough a Sharp mini-component system w/ a DD decoder. At the very least I want to: 1) Change the channel from the cable box (soon to be DBS) 2) Raise and lower the volume on the "receiver" 3) Change inputs on the "receiver" from VCR to DVD ....without having to press buttons in between (ie. change sources). Past remotes have never been able to do more than +/- the volume, much less change sources. Do you guys think this remote will be able to do the trick for me? Thanks a million!
PS Is there anywhere I can go to learn HOW the remotes "learn" codes from other remotes. I'm a newbie to the world of remotes:)
