Yes, the remote is a IR type remote. I tried setting my MX-500 to AUX-155 and tried to learn the MX-500 the fire-up and fire-down commands from the Maxitrol, but the MX-500 did not "see" any of the Maxitrol commands.
Is the Maxitrol likely working on a protocol that is not learnable by the MX-500?
