The OFA will work with any learning remote. You can get discrete on/off for most every device you own, plus things that the original remote doesn't do. Some are direct access to things that you would normally have to go through menu options to access, vcr tape eject if the original remote doesn't have it, etc. Just for fun, go to www.hifi-remote.com and look up your equipment in the setup code section. Then, go to the Advanced Code List and click on some of the setup codes. This will tell you what discrete codes are available. You will probably find some there that you would really like to have and which will make life with the remote a lot easier for you. As you get more into macros on the 3000, you will appreciate discrete codes more and more.
Yes, this could be a valuable thread for future users if they have the ambition to wade through it. It is getting kind of long, but that is what the forum is for.
