Sony RM-V302
-----------------
( rmv302 , rm v302 , sony v302 )(this is just to help other in case their search is slightly off)
-----------------

I have been juggling 3 remotes. We all know what happens when you bust the little battery door, due to playing with it too much .... sticky tape works fine for the first month then it starts not to stick so well anymore, and you have a "sticky" remote with a flappy battery door.

I finally broke down and bought the "Sony RMV302, 5 in 1 controller". Works perfect.

Read the instructions carefully and follow all steps to get it to work with all your equipment. Here is a run down of what I'm using it with:

-JVC TV-
worked with codes found on code list.

-JVC DVD-
worked with codes found on code list.

-Panasonic CD 50+1 changer (very old, no problem)-
worked with codes found on code list.

----"The tricky part"----"Be patient !!"

-Scientific Atlanta-Explorer3200(with Roger's digital cable box)- The codes found on the code list did NOT work.

I messed around with it at first and I was getting ready to return the remote.

I read the instructions on "changing the component type" I ensured that the "CBL/SAT" button was actually programed for Cable.

After this step you have to do the manual search using the "set" + "power" key then pressing "ch+" and "power" until the digital cable box turns OFF. As soon as it turns off do not press the "ch+" or "power" button, but instead press the "ENT" key.

Now it should work !!!! I was ready to return it as I mentioned above, but now all functions work. You got the digital 'guide','favorites', 'volume control' ..... PERFECT.

It may take a little of messing around with the buttons, but it works. I'm happy to know that when my wife uses the remotes, I only have to search for 1 instead of 3 remotes

Yes it is a pain in the butt to get this thing to work, Sony should have incorporate an auto code search function, but "ya just can't go wrong with the price of remote once you get it to work".

If you don't have much patience then you might wanna fork out $30 - $200+ for something that is more user friendly ;)

Hope this helped some one, enjoy !
