AC Infinity makes good stuff that is quiet and moves a lot of air, but their smallest inline fan and duct is 4". You could probably get creative in the Home Depot AV duct department with some 4"-3" reducers, or maybe online.
Trying to move the air from a 4" fan by reducing the duct to 3" might work, but it might not- at higher pressure/vacuum, the reducer causes loss of volume being moved.
I'm pretty sure the 4" system is for a closet that has more equipment generating heat- OTOH, the 2" pipe mentioned in the OP isn't going to do much.
I doubt the fan, J-box and hardware cost me more than $15 and the flexible duct was free- Lowes has a 3" x 96" piece for $22.
