Sometimes I need to resort to a CEC blocker, but it’s unknown if this might restrict ultimate bandwidth too much. Fortunately, we are not dealing ultimate gamers or 8K.

Blocking CEC can also defeat ARC- I needed to make ARC work with a Samsung TV & Yamaha Aventage AVR and neither had a setting called 'ARC' but they both needed CEC enabled in order for ARC to work. I don't mind using CEC if the TV is connected to a cable/sat box, streaming box or any kind of basic system but I have seen some crappy performance when in a more complex setup.

I stand by my alternate acronym for HDMI.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
