But the Yamaha RX-V1 is so old at this point, it is a moot point. These are worthless now and not usable on any modern system, due to the lack of HDMI.
The best that can be done is use them in a 2ch setup and that is a waste of valuable space, considering the size and the power you would get for just 2 channels.

Just threw out a Yamaha RX-Z1 last year, due to it not being really usable in any systems anymore. That was heartbreaking.
