Here's a link showing that the Planar commercial displays are made for 24/7 operation- the Samsung, Hitachi, Fujitsu & Pioneer models I have worked with stated the same.
This has nothing to do with the panel. It is the same panel used in both residential models & commercial models. The difference is in the feature set, styling, and 'arguably' more robust power supply.
24/7 is marketing BS, residential models can usually go 24/7 just as long. There is no need for the marketing department to mention this for residential use. So you only see EVERY manufacture of a commercial display talk about "How there display is made to go 24/7". Well if the residential model couldn't as well, I think that to be really shitty.
