Control up to 8 devices: The RM-V502 can control up to 8 devices (RV, VCR, Cable, Satellite, Receiver, CD, Tape, DVD); the RM-V402 can control 7 (TV, VCR, Cable/Satellite, DVD, Receiver, CD, Aux); the RM-V302 can control 5 (TV, VCR, Cable/Satellite, DVD, Receiver); the RM-V202 can control 4 (TV, VCR, Cable/Satellite, DVD); while the RM-EZ2 can control 2 devices (TV, Cable). Most component buttons may be reassigned (except on the RM-EZ2), for instance convert the [DVD] button into a second VCR.

Preprogrammed codes: The RM-V502, RM-V402 and V302 include a large database of IR codes for a wide variety of devices, including VCRs, digital satellite receivers, digital cable boxes, digital video recorders (such as TiVo or ReplayTV), mini systems, receivers, CD players, tape decks, MD or DAT decks, televisions, analog cable boxes and DVD players. The RM-V202 can operate VCRs, digital satellite receivers, digital cable boxes, digital video recorders (such as TiVo or ReplayTV), televisions, analog cable boxes and DVD players, while the RM-EZ2 can control televisions and analog cable boxes.

44 physical buttons on the RM-V502: The RM-V402 has 43, the RM-V302 has 41, and the RM-V202 has 40. For all four of these models, 35 buttons are dedicated to in-device functions. Controls provided include a numerical keypad, full transport functions and a 5-way menu cursor. For the RM-EZ2, 22 buttons are included, 19 of them for in-device functions such as volume, channel and a numerical keypad.

Component select macros: The RM-V502 supports 8 macros with up to 16 commands in each. Macros are assigned to each component button and will transmit after the key is held down for 2 seconds.

Favorite channel macros: The RM-V402 and RM-V302 support assigning a 4-step favorite channel macro on the 6 transport buttons. Only buttons under televisions, analog cable boxes, digital cable boxes, DSS receivers or digital video recorders can have this feature enabled.

Backlit LCD display on the RM-V502 makes setup and operation easy.

Volume buttons may be configured so they adjust the television's video for video devices and the receiver's for audio, or the receiver's for both.
