This is a new BluRay player and the RS232 commands that work with the other Pioneer DVD players seem not to work with this one. Does anyone have the command set for RS232 and IP control? I'm guessing they would have the same commands for RS232 and IP

Baud Rate 115200
Data 8
Stop 1
Parity None

/A181AF39/RU <--- Play
/A181AF3A/RU <--- Pause

Let me know if those work and if they do PM with your email and I'll email the PDF to you otherwise I'm afraid that's all I got for pioneer BD players.

Your player may require a firmware up date to turn on the RS-232 port.
If you are in Europe or the UK use the firmware download from that web site or a direct link from the player to the internet.
In other words, don't use firmware from another region.

You can use the BDP-33 RS-232 command list on the USA site at pioneercustom.com

The info for the BDP-33 is-
RS-232C Cable Type: 9-pin CROSS cable
Settings
Speed: 9600bps
Data Length: 8bit
Parity: None
Stop: 1bit

IP Control
Port Number: 8102

Yes, you need the latest firmware. The U.S. received it recently but that is for the North American region.
Check with your local sales rep to find the release date for your region.

Hi all,

Thanks for the responses. I managed to control the device using IP, but not through RS232. On the user manual it says that RS232C port is not used. I am not sure if thats really the case, or if there is a way around it.

I have cheked the firmware upgrade section as well, it says the current one (PB11022800) is the latest firmware. We are based in Australia by the way.

That appears to be the latest version.
What controller are you using? Are you sure you are using these settings and cable?

@NSP01, is there in this version support for multiple connections?

So that when there are two devices connected, it will send its feedback to both devices instead of 1.

Depends on the controller for IP or RS-232.
What are you using?

I am using AMX to control it. As I mentioned I got the IP control working (with an exception of power ON command that doesn't work).
As for RS232 I have all the settings that you mentioned, and tried baud rate of 9600 and 115200. Neither of which worked.

Since you are connected to the player through a controller you should be able to see feedback on all touch pads. If the control device was connected directly to the port then it would be the only one that could connect.
Power On should work. Be sure to wait a while. My BDP-43FD takes 45-60 to light up.
Something is strange with the RS-232. Did you connect directly with a laptop and try it with a serial program? Are you sure you have a crossover cable?
Sorry that's the best I can do without being there. Be happy to fly down if you pay - ha ha.

I'm sure the Power ON command works through serial because I have done it before, but it's not working through IP.

I had this similar issue with a pioneer amplifier, and I had to turn the network standby on to get it going. But I can't find such a setting on this BluRay.

Okay, I confirmed that IP Power On isn't working and reported it. If I get a reply or a hint of a fix I'll let you know.

Is the energy managment system turned off?

most likely it shut downs it's Ip config to save energy. In the lx 53 there was an option to turn it off.

And yes, I am directly connected to the device, without use of any controller..
