Good grief. Suckered, but there was no white
van so I didn't see it coming.

That's what the boss thought, too, but he loved it and that's what we called them.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I guess all the Bose bashing just answered the guys original question about Bose bashing...

no, no bashing, but to explain the bashing you need to explain what people don't like from Bose
...

They don't need to make them sound better. They have a marketing department.

So here you go flamers, warm up your keyboards
to get ready to slap me down for my blatant ignorance
of audiophile-level quality...my opinion is:
I still think they are OK. I think the sound
they put out is fine. I very much like the fact
that they are physically very, very small yet
still fill the room with (in my opinion) enjoyable
sound. [For the record, the room is NOT a dedicated
home theater, just an open living room.]

Hey, no worries mate. Some people are fine with a velvet painting of some rats playing pool on their wall, others like a Picasso. Everything is subjective. If you think that crap sounds good, then that's all that matters isn't it. I have witnessed the Bose stuff working fine is some background music situations. The size is definitley it's biggest virtue, but it's limitations are very significant. Personally, I wouldn't want to use a Bose system in my home for any program. Life is short, don't waste the small amount of time that you get to actually enjoy music and movies with a compromised set of speakers. Cheap out on the lawn mower or something,, not the sound.

Keep your childish rants to a minimum. Remember, you are SUPPOSED to be a professional! Professionals don't whine about competition, peers, or those in their field that they feel are substandard; THEY JUST DO BETTER. If you don't like Bose, don't spec it, don't install it, and don't maintain it. The best way to get back at them is to have a successful marketing campaign that digs into, and DIRECTLY takes away from THEIR market share! Split the vote, you freakin' liberal!

don't bring my name up in that manner, and we don't have to hear my rants on how your silly little posts actually sound ;)

Imagine there's no Monster,
It's easy if you try,
No bose below us,
Above us not murdochs sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
No wiring standards to die for,
No Cedia too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no multiroom,
I wonder if you can,
No need for ISF or calibration,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day Wesley will join us,
And Remote Central will live as one.

Mr. G, I'll look for you at the local music store this week. You've got a hit! (Maybe I can download it onto my iPod).
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

It wasn't until I read the book that I realized the true Jedi were outcast from the Republic and considered criminals. I will never join the dark side! As long as there are builders, interior decorators, and architects who don't interact with our professionals as they should... As long as there are real estate professionals that do not know enough about the wares we bring to offer a definable value... As long as our companies are not being featured on HGTV on a regular basis... I will remain focused!

In April 1950, the CIA began work on PROJECT BLUEBIRD, the
agency's fledgling attempt at mind control. "Within two years
this had progressed into the substantially enlarged PROJECT
ARTICHOKE. According to a later CIA internal memorandum, PROJECT
ARTICHOKE was intended to 'exploit operational lines, scientific
methods and knowledge that can be utilized in altering the
attitudes, beliefs, thought processes and behaviour patterns of
agent personnel. This will include the application of tested
psychiatric and psychological techniques including the use of
hypnosis in conjunction with drugs.' In turn, only one year
later, in April 1953, PROJECT ARTICHOKE became MKULTRA, the
generic name for a series of on-going investigations by the
agency's Technical Services Staff."

Some might object that pre-programming a subject to be a "killer
on command" violates the common wisdom that one cannot be
hypnotised to do something that is contray to one's individual
morals. Yet not all "experts" are in agreement on this. For
example Milton Kline, a New York psychologist and former
president of the American Society for Clinical and Experimental
Hypnosis believes it is *not* impossible to create a "Manchurian
Candidate." According to Kline, "It cannot be done by everyone.
It cannot be done consistently, but it can be done."

"There seems little doubt that sophisticated techniques have now
reached the stage where, if murder is desired, a killer, once
programmed and 'on hold', can be triggered into action."

you didnt shoot john lennon did you Wes? lol

Hmm. Read a book that was written after the movie, and therefore was fleshed out by someone so that when people who loved the film bought it, it was not just the hundred or so pages that the script probably was. And quotes this book, this afterthought with lots of filler (very poetic etaoinshrdlu, I am sure).

Has a theory that house low voltage wiring can be futureproof.

Not in touch, twice. Coincidence? I DON'T THINK SO!
