Do you think Rogers will change everything at once? Might be worth keeping the current channel listing behind for a while.

I'm with Cogeco and am now receiving pure 1080i @5.1 on HDNET, HD Discovery and A&E HD through my ATSC/QAM capable Hitachi. I also get Sportnet east on 2 QAM channels and never miss a hockey game due to black out. I was getting a couple of HD movie channels but they blacked them out on me.

Enjoy them now, since I doubt they'll remain unencrypted for too long! :-)

67.1 - WNYO 72.1 - CTV (not sure what affiliate, just saw logo in the corner) 74.1 - ReTV (Real Estate TV) There is also an audio feed on 70.1
Basically, those are the only changes I could see for my area...

OK, I've updated the list according to what I receive... moved 3 channels around (now the first three on the list), and added all the radio stations in the 96 block.

Just got the HD Box from Rogers .... as I recently purchased an LG 37" LCD with the LG 1000w Home Theatre system.
Would I be able to see The Score (I have Basic Cable and Cable Plus Original)?

For The Score you're going to need the MyTV analog pack, or see if you can order it a la carte on digital.
Or perhaps they're now offering it free on digital (but still encrypted) since the move? I have no way of knowing, since I'm *supposed* to get it. :-)

I got a Viewsonic 37' lcd from Costco. It has a built in ATSC tuner. when I do an autoscan it will pick up and program the digital channels from rogers (in moncton). After I turn the TV off and back on again the Digital channels are gone and I have to scan them in again. It this a problem with my TV? Or is it just the way it works on all TV's with ATSC tuners. Anyone else have this problem. If it is the TV causing the issue I will return it. I also got an analog TV With a digital cable box hooked to it. So I am suppose to get the digital signal.

Good Day All,
Does anyone know of any set-top boxes I could get that support QAM for my TV? I have a TV without a tuner I would like to try it on.
Thanks for the help!

ATSC, incidentally, isn't a part of this equation since it only deals with antenna pickup of OTA HD stations. For tuning in digital cable channels you're using QAM. As for it not remembering those stations... this sounds like a television-specific issue since it doesn't happen on the two QAM tuners I have. Try contacting Viewsonic to see what they have to say.

I picked up a Philips 32PF5321D 32" at Costco the other day. (I tried the 37" Viewsonic at Costco, but it wouldn't pull in the QAM channels from Rogers, and the picture left much to be desired.)
The Philips picture is excellent and I get all the Rogers unscrambled channels. The "on demand" channels are crazy -- on Saturday night I piggybacked onto someone who was watching Syriana. A couple times they paused the playback and rewound it a few minutes.
I get most of the channels that you've listed, Daniel - but a few aren't coming in. Particularly the Food Network on 114.2206. Any idea why I'd get most, but not all these channels?
After the Philips does the channel scan, it then takes about 20 minutes to "sort" the 400+ channels. Then when I flip through the channels it's found, I see channels 114.2201, 114.2202, 114.2203 etc, but there's no picture on any of these.
If I try rescanning for digital channels, sometimes the channel listing changes and the 114.xxxx channels disappear altogether.

I have a Philips set I use as well to test with as well (and yes, the auto sort takes forever!). It often doesn't mask out all encrypted channels properly. It also has a particularly annoying auto-scan feature.
For instance, say there's an unencrypted QAM channel 80.25, and that's the only 80.xx channel you get or it presents to you, but one day you accidentally just enter in channel 80 - well, it'll sense that this is a QAM channel, figure out all of the ACTUAL (although not viewable) channels there, and automatically add them to your channel list. So suddenly you have tons of blank channels there - 80.1 through 80.24 and so forth.
