I just checked, PBS is coming in fine (43-1 HD, 43-2 SD & 43-3 "Think Bright"). Also, I only have ABC 38-1 as normal. Thanks Daniel. I rechecked the samsung and it works fine with all 3 channels. The hdtv wonder is the only one not picking up the HD channel. I'm guessing that it's time for a fresh install. Thanks again, rbq

Think the OTA portion should be fine.

I'm located in Scarborough Markham & Sheppard area. What would be the recommended atenna to pick Buffalo HDTV stations? Hi Maddawg, If you live more than 60 miles from the Buffalo transmitters, which you do, you must get as much elevation on the antenna as possible. Even the highest gain antenna cannot pick up signals blocked by the curvature of the earth. I'm using the Antennas Direct DB8 [Link: antennasdirect.com] in downtown Oakville. I receive 18 very-stable digital channels. The DB8 has very flexible aiming characteristics which is a benefit if you are not using a rotor. If you are, an antenna like the Antennas Direct 91XG [Link: antennasdirect.com] will get you more range. I am not using a preamp. My antenna is 50' above ground and faces south. I receive all Toronto and Buffalo-area stations and 2 Rochester stations. Regards, Nick This message was edited by nickmosh on 05/10/05 00:33 ET.

CBC will be broadcasting the following native HD programs;
Saturday, May 21, Star Wars 1: Phantom Menace Sunday, May 22, Star Wars 2: Attack of the Clones Just a reminder that this is coming up in a couple days. Interesting that CBC has Episode 1 on Saturday, as Fox isn't showing that, only Episode 2 on Sunday.

Don't know if anyone's noticed, but CBC has a schedule available now that shows what's HD and what's widescreen. Look for it on [Link: cbc.ca]

Well, Star Wars Episode 1 was indeed shown in HD CBC... however it wasn't OAR and seemed closer to DVD quality. Sound was excellent, and I saw no broadcast issues. Looking forward to Episode 2 tonight.

Looked better than Phantom Menace. Much sharper picture (this LOOKED like HD) and great sound. It was still 1.78:1 instead of 2.35:1, however, and seemed to have twice as many commerical breaks.

Daniel,
Can you elaborate on this "was still 1.78:1 instead of 2.35:1".
Just not that familiar with these numbers.
