Why not learn them yourself?

There are no direct AV inputs on the remotes for panasonic LCD screens. you select inputs by a sequency
There are a large number of steps needed to get to any input, involving firing repeated colour commands which can take up to 30 seconds to switch, this is unacceptable to us.

I have just bought the Panasonic TX32LXD60 LCD which was just released in the UK a few days ago. Having waited without a TV for weeks for it's launch I too am very dissapointed that I cannot seem to get any discrete code working.

I have tried all the Plasma and HDTV codes but no joy. I too would be very gratefull of any suggestions.

p.s. just in case it gives clues here is the learnt Power toggle

I am pulling my hair out. Panasonic tech support are very unhelpful just saying the factory does not pass the discrete codes on to them.

How does one normally come up with discrete codes for a TV in the first place?

It is quite possible that they don't exist. Panasonic isn't too good in this area.

Could you give me a guidance of how I need to edit the irp file to obtain the following in MakeHeX

0000 0071 0000 0032 0080 0041 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0031 0010 0011 0010 0031 0010 0AFD

I have adjusted it to get part the way there as follows

Device=129.0
Function=0..255

Protocol= Panasonic
Frequency=36683
Time Base=435
Zero=1,-1
One=1,-3
Prefix=8,-4
Default S=0
Define C=D^S^F
Suffix=1,-173
Form=;*,2:8,32:8,D:8,S:8,F:8,C:8,_

any help appreciated

What model LCD do you have? I have a newer Panasonic DLP. (the 56dlx25) and I noticed it uses the same codes as my previous Panasonic crt-rptv ( 3 year old 53wx42 I believe)

With the dlp there's no direct selection either, it's done sequentially. The only way I can see to do it, is to make a macro... Hit the 'input' then whatever number corresponds to the input you need.

I'm in desperate need for the IR code for the aspect ratio button. Involves some remote horror stories regarding my new tv. Went to Best Buy today to see if I could learn it off the remote for the LCDs, but they didn't have the remote.

***edit*** Found the aspect ratio code in a ccf in the protopro file section. They had discretes for some inputs, did not try them out, but they may work since the aspect button worked for me.

I have the TX32LXD60 - just out in the UK. Your idea won't work because first you have to toggle the TV/AV and then select the input desired with the red/yellow/blue/green. When in AV if you press "1" to get back to TV nothing happens.

So if you wanted input 1 but were already in AV then toggling TV/AV would take you to TV.

Where did you get 129 from?

Can't remember whether I got 129 from trial and error or from reading somewhere else.

I have given up trying to find discrete codes for my Panasonic TX32LXD60. The trouble is I just can't work out how to get it to a know configuration so that I can then go from there to put it in the state I want.

However, I thought of the idea of buying a divice which might switch the TV to a known state. I thought my SKY would do this through the Scart but it seems very spurious. If I switch off the SKY and back on then occasionally it seems to switch the TV to that input. Am I missing something?

I thought of buying the new Panasonic SAXR70 (in the UK) as my Sony DAVS500 is not true Scart as it comes out of the Sony as composite so won't switch the TV.

I am reluctant to buy another device that will not accept discrete codes. Anyone know about this unit? and will my idea of switching to a known state work?

I have the same problem now with a TX32LXD500. Even though in the menu you can select something like "On Preference - TV or AV" it doesn't work! And even if it did it would still be useless during operation - can't see any client selecting DVD whilst watching the golf and then the TV goes off for 20 seconds!
I have you now
