I have the TX32LXD60 - just out in the UK. Your idea won't work because first you have to toggle the TV/AV and then select the input desired with the red/yellow/blue/green. When in AV if you press "1" to get back to TV nothing happens.
So if you wanted input 1 but were already in AV then toggling TV/AV would take you to TV.
