I just received my new pronto tsu3000 today...and am sooooo lost. I feel I have wasted $300!!! I am totally computer literate and not technologically challenged, but trying to make any sense of this thing has been a waste of 5 hrs for me. I d/l' ed many config files from here.....but still cant seem to do anything but the basic, individual remote functions. I have read everything I could get my hands on , but apparently not the right stuff..... any suggestions other than "send it back"?

I know how you feel. I was there about a year ago. Besides the standard answer (Read the FAQ), just be patient and keep playing with it. Post your questions. Someone will step forward to help.

it really just takes some time to get used to it, don't try anything hard, start with the basics and in no time, you will think this is the easiest thing.

I completely agree with Anthony. Start with one simple page for one device. Probably something you use a lot like the TV or the Sat, if you have it. Pick 5 buttons ONLY from your present remote for that starter page and add these 5 buttons and then teach these button from the original remote. Then play with it for awile. You will get the hang of it in no time. However, make sure your expectations are in the right spot. It will take a fair amount of time but it can be fun and slightly challenging.

Feel free to drop me an email if I can answer some questions...Dave [email protected]

ok..thanks...I think I am getting it now.....one BIG question....

How do I have the 3000 open up in a HOME page instead of a device overview? or how do I add a "HOME" button to the startup screen? (ok...that's 2 questions....):-)

Probably figured this out by now but:
3000 always goes to Device Overview page when it is first powered-on (after battery replacement). No way around that.

The hard button to the lower-left side of the cursor-pad (the one with the picture of a house on it) is a good candidate for a HOME button.

Assuming you've created a Page in the Home device, you can have any button jump to it (including the one mentioned above) by assigning the Home "special action" to that button.

start by reading the previous posts.
but putting it simply you need three things

1) how to use the SW? it is not hard, but needs some practice

2) what do I do, how do I configure the remote? this is 100% you, and no one can give you that answer, what I like is not what you like.

3) where do I get the tools (icons) to build my PCF? you can use a bitmap editor or you can use icons created by others.

By downloading PCFs and CCFs created by others you get practice on the SW, you also get ideas on what you like and what works for you, and even if you don't like the look/feal of a particular config, it might have a button or two that you like and want to add to your config. That is why we highly recommend just playing with different configs at first.

Thanks for the response. Another question...
Could I just to to the files section for the TSU and download one of the files listed? Are we allowed to copy those formats and use them for our system? Could I just adjust it a little or delete and copy what suits my needs? PLease let me know. I really am lost here!

yes to all your questions, the file sections on this site are files uploaded by people that wanted to make others life easier. Download use and enjoy.

Some CCFs have copyright warnings, but I think they are mostly aimed to professionals that might want to take advantage of the many hours of art work put into creating them. (and trust me there have been a few cases where people have advertised it as their own work).
