Probably figured this out by now but:
3000 always goes to Device Overview page when it is first powered-on (after battery replacement). No way around that.
The hard button to the lower-left side of the cursor-pad (the one with the picture of a house on it) is a good candidate for a HOME button.
Assuming you've created a Page in the Home device, you can have any button jump to it (including the one mentioned above) by assigning the Home "special action" to that button.
