EarthLCD has two types of replacement LCDs for the Pronto remote. The Version A and the version B. You will get what you order, Earth does not substitute. These can be ordered online at [Link: earthlcd.com]As far as the differences between the two, there are several posts on this site that explain it in better detail then we might be able. Earth is a surplus supplier, so although we can give you the best prices, we may not always do we have the original OEM specs. We do appreciate your business and look forward to hearing from you.

Will this part UG-24U01-WGHT3-B work for TSU2000?
I have a malfunctioning touchscreen and have already talked to the people at EarthLCD and would like to find out if this part will work for my pronto.
Thanks, Sean

This really works! My TSU2000 was dropped once too many and the screen went black. I ordered the replacement screen on a Thursday and received it on Monday.
Everyone suffered thru the weekend with anywhere from 3 to 6 remotes at a time. The installation process took under 30 minutes. It is so nice to have it back! Which part number did you order for the TSU2000? Was it the "A" (UG24U01WGHT3A) or "B" (UG24U01WGHT3B)? I am having a lot of difficulty finding someone who will post the model of the pronto with the replacement part in one message.

On Earth LCD's site there is one that says
Samsung UG24U01WGHT3B 240x320 Graphic EL Backlit STN, touch screen included Compatible with Pronto TSU1000 remote $59
That's what you want

Ok thanks,... I didn't see any information on the website about the 2000 but I figured that was probably the one.
Thanks for your help, I will try it and post how it worked out.

What about a replacement screen for the color TSU6000? Mine suffered the great "Heel of the wife" last night.
Thanks, Rob

What a bummer! I Don't know where you can get those yet...luckily mine isn't broke yet. I'd call philips and see how much they charge. I believe it is something like $75

if you are willing to open the case, then you can find out the part, and it should be easy to find a place to buy one

Hey, Thanks a million!
I ordered the UG24U01WGHT3B part number from EarthLCD for $59 plus $8 shipping for my Pronto TSU2000/01 and after a quick 15 minute operation it is back in service again.
Thanks to Joey for the website instructions and to McNasty for the guidance.
As Homer would say...Whoohoo!

McNasty, is the replacement good enough to do it for a client and charge him? Or, is this good enough for a hobbyist and his own remote only?
I have a client's broken CHAD and I can read all the Samsung numbers (very dimly) but cant tell if it is a -3A or -3B. How critical is it to get the A or B?
Thanks!

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |

I don't see why you can't do it for them and charge them (as long as they are willing to pay) It is very simple to replace and is the same screen. I don't know how critical it is on it being an "A" or "B", but I would think the CHAD would have the same screen as the Pronto. Does anyone out there know if it uses the same screen?

I have a wierd LCD screen problem. I get these vertical "smears" of black - more heavy on the right side where the drop down selection goes. The remote still works fine, its just trying to see my bitmaps underneath these smears when I adjust the contrast - I can sometimes see whats underneath. Is this a contrast/controller thing or a LCD screen thing? I have an Philips Pronto RU890 - is this the same as a T1000 or the same screen part as described in this thread? Any ideas would help.
Thanks.
