The Brands For Less website specifically says "Offer limited to one rebate per email/household address". So how does ordering the items separately have any benefit?

In my original message I gave links to two different $25 off $50 rebates.

Jody: thanks a lot for posting this! I placed an order and I hope that everything (pricematch, rebates) goes through!

I heard on another forum that the BFL $25 discount was only good through Nov. 18 - is that true?

I think I heard the same thing. I guess I better order mine tonight. I was hoping to delay my purchase closer to Christimas to see if there is a price drop or newer version coming.

Hi Everyone,
As mentioned in an earlier post, I too order the Pronto and charger stand in two separate orders this pass weekend from the advice taken from the original poster (Jody). I called today to ask J&R about the price match from controlyourhome.com. I very surprise to have gotten it with no hassle and very courteous service.
I requested on the order that the items be shipped UPS ground, but was very surprise when the guy on the phone at J&R told me that they were shipped yesterday by Fed-X at no extra charge and that I should be receiving them by tomorrow. I am getting a great product at a great price from a very courteous dealer. Thanks to Jody, Brands For Less, and J&R.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun upcoming holiday weekend.

Best Regards,
Don

I just spoke to Brands For Less. The $25 rebate ([Link: brandsforless.com]) expires on December 1st. The other ones linked above may expire earlier.

I just ordered my Pronto and placed two seperate orders. If I had it to do again I would place one order for both. If you place 2 orders with all the rebates and price matching it comes out to be approx. $275. I assumed that you only get the 10% off on the Pronto. If you place one order it runs $251. approx., here you would see the benefit of getting the 10% off both items.

When I called J&R they wouldn't price match the combo offer from www.controlyourhome.com, only the singally priced items. That also accounts for $15 of price difference. Just wanted to offer a little help.

First time poster. :-)

I ordered the pronto and charger yesterday thru BFL from J&R. I later called J&R to see if they would price match CYH's $329 price for the combo and they said they would. I suspect they are "on to us" though, based on Matt's post.

I also applied for all the rebates: 10%, free S/H, and $25 back on orders over $50. The only one I've received confirmation on is for the the free S/H. For the 10% and $25 offers, I'll assume no news is good news, for now. :-)

Thanks to Jody for sniffing this out. I can't wait to get my Pronto! I'm already playing with Pronto Edit and the possibilities are really exciting.

P.S. Ironically, I bought a new Sony TV (being delivered tomorrow!), making all my devices Sony. The old TV was a Philips, and now the new remote will be a Philips! (Before this week, I intended to buy the Sony RM-AV2000, making my setup all Sony). Anyway...

One thing I'll mention is that the Pronto works very will with Sony devices -- especially considering the wealth of discrete input and power command available.

However, you may find ProntoEdit is a bit unreliable learning Sony codes (or at least I have found so one earlier versions). When viewing the hex code of a particular signal, check to make sure that the LAST FOUR DIGITS are not repeated anywhere else in the code. If they are, you may wish to learn the signal again.

The Pronto itself will learn all codes reliably. Or, I guess you could go the easy way and download a pre-configured file. :-)

As mentioned in an earlier post, I ordered the Pronto and charging stand in two separate orders from J&R though BFL this pass Sunday. I choose the cheaper shipping by UPS ground, but J&R upgraded my shipping to Fed-X at no extra charge. I received them today and I have had just a short time now to play around with the remote. I lined the TV remote up with the Pronto to learn it some of the basic commands. I also did my AV receiver for the power on and the volume controls. I am so far extremely impressed with this unit. It has a wide IR range and has the ability to operate everything without even having to pick it up off of the coffee table. I was never able to do this with both my TV and AV turner remotes; they both have a very narrow IR range. My wife never would learn all the remotes and never felt comfortable turning on anything more then the TV. With this new remote I thing she will have no problem using it for all of our equipment. This is a fantastic remote, which is going to give me endless hours of fun just playing with it and creating the new CCF files for it within the ProntoEdit software. I have a Denon AVR-3300 on back order and I am looking forward to adding it to the remote, until then I have plenty of devices to program into it, they should keep me busy for a while.

BTW, I also only received email conformation on the free shipping from BFL and not anything confirming my rebate or 10% first time buyers discount. I called them to verify that they received all information and asked if I should have also received email on the other two offers. I was told that they don’t email you regarding the $25 rebates, but I would be receiving it. However the person on the phone said that he thought that I should have received email confirming the 10% first time buyers discount and that he would call me back. After receiving no call back I called them again the next day and explained the situation again. I was told again that he would call me back within about 45 minutes and that he would also email me, I never received either. I called again the next day and finally got results with an email saying that my rebate request was forwarded to the proper department. They were always very courteous on the phone, but I got the feeling that they forgot about me shortly after, leaving me wondering if I was going to get a call back or not. I just hope I end up getting everything that was promised.
All in all I LOVE this remote.

Best Regards,
Don

Okay, for all of us that have waited and now the price is $339 at www.controlyourhome.com, here is a new rebate from BFL for $30 off $50. Knocks off another $5 bucks for ya.

Jody,

Thanks, I have been waiting for a awhile on good deal and you made it happen. I followed your instructions and it all worked well. Processing the rebates was a snap, all though I never got an email on the 25 for 50 rebate. I end up printing the controlyourhome pronto page with the price and faxing it to J&R in order to get my credit, but the did.

I placed my order on the 17th. I requested UPS ground and they upgraded me to 2nd day delivery for free. Believe it or not Fedex just made the pronto delivery. Got to go! I have programming to do…

Don,

You should have received email for the 10% new customer discount, I did. You might want to try again.

I went to the brands for less sight and linked to J&R but couldn't find the Pronto listed. How do I order it through BFL? I want to make sure I get the discounts.

It looks like J&R removed the Pronto from their website. I search every which way but no Pronto. Dang, I didn't even get to order mine yet. Oh well!
