I chatted with BFL and they said the Pronto is not available from J&R any more? Does any one know what happened?

Does anyone know of anywhere else to order the Pronto and docking station at a good price?

Having already ordered many DVD's via BFL of reel.com's site and now seeing that the $25 off of a $50 order is limited to 1 per household, I am very much leaning toward just purchasing from controlyourhome.com for $339.

Anyone else know of any other good internet vendors for the Pronto?

Find someone who works for Philips or a company associated with Philips. I received mine from the Philips company store for $200.

Looks like I ordered the pronto just in time.

I finally got an email from J&R, but it said $379 for the combo, so I called them up - they assured me that the price match of $329 had been charged (which surprised me because they didn't get to my order until controlyourhome.com had raised their price to $339) and it had shipped.

Now I just have to make sure I get the BFL discounts, then sell my Sony remote.

Who can you buy from on the net who will ship the pronto overseas and works with brands for less?

The BFL web site lists all of their participating stores, and J&R is the only audio/video store. Alas, they will not ship overseas.

J&R still sells them... and J&R is still affiliated with BrandsforLess.com.

BFL has a $50 rebate on any purchase of $250 or more from J&R, plus free overnight shipping (rebate). There is also a rebate worth $30 on BFL at "[Link: brandsforless.com]".

My salesperson said that they would match other's prices, but I bought mine before this $50 rebate was available.

If they won't match the package price of $329, they will match the $289 for the Pronto and $65 for the battery/charger that I found elsewhere (don't have my notes with me at the moment). That ammounts to $274 for the bundle with free overnight shipping!

A helpful person at BFL told me that since J&R carries it and it doesn't show up one their web site, you can order it from J&R over the phone and ask for a confirmation number. This number is what you should use when you fill out the rebate form(s).

I can't guarrantee anything, since I have yet to receive the rebates that I requested for my purchase...

I did just spot the charging pkg DS1000 for $49.95 at http://www.smarthomeusa.com/ - I'm sure that J&R would match that, lowering your possible outlay for a complete Pronto package to $259 with free overnight shipping!

I also spoke to a Brandforless representative and he told me that in order to get the discounts you have to order the pronto online. By ordering through J&R directly and then putting the confirmation on the web form does not entitle you to any of the rebates. This is the reason why I did not place my order. Yes, J&R stills sells them but you have to place the order online but you can't because the pronto is not listed anymore.

Okay, everyone, stop the guessing and complaining about rebates and just get the product at a company that has them In Stock and can ship immediately at a very good price.

Two weeks ago I purchased two Pronto Remotes with the Charger for a $360(each set), which included the shipping.

I have received them and I have received excellent service. The company is AVI Electronics www.avielectronics.com

I have also purchased Denon AVR-5700, Denon DVD-5000, and the Microsoft/Harmon Kardon remote from the same company a few months ago. The pricing is part of the deal, but the service is Outstanding. On the Denons and the Harmon Kardon remote, I got the BEST price that anyone has ever offered anywhere!! Their prices always include shipping.

No Games, no gimmicks, and absolutely NO HEADACHES!!

I ordered my pronto from J&R (through BFL) on November 17 and received my first rebate check from BFL yesterday. It was only for the shipping, but I'm hoping more will come in the next couple of weeks!

Just received my Philips Pronto from Etronixs.com! There customer service was outstanding and there prices were very fair, $299.00 for the Pronto with Free UPS ground shipping/which can be upgraded and the dock is only $59.95. I highly suggest this company they also have alot of great home a/v stuff in stock that is not on there web page. I spoke to (Chris) he told me that they cannot post the Pronto on there web-site per Philips and says Philips has also told about another 150 internet stores to remove it, Philips is suppose to be making internet site's authorized. Chirs tells me that there company is one of the few who have followed the rules by removing it and hope to obtain authorizen by Philips. Good Luck Guys thanks for the great customer service.
--P.S. Anyone know the codes for a Infra-Red gas fireplace?

Well, I received two checks this week. One for 15$ the second for $55 not bad. I am still waiting for the J&R price match credit.

Special thanks to Jody!

I didn't purchase a Pronto through the brands-for-less deal, but I did buy something else. Today I received one cheque ("check" to some of you out there) with both shipping and $30 discounts on it. Haven't seen the 10% discount yet.
