Lyndel,

I am using Pronto Edit 4.05, in developer mode.

I am 99% sure file size is not the issue. I removed all my devices leaving only the cd changers in there and I still get the same results on the final snl file.

Probably something to do with the complexity of the file.

I am not familiar with Tonto, other than it is another ccf file editor. Which to you recommend? I have grown pretty accostomed to Pronto Edit.

Thanks again.

BTW - I resent that file to you, the 1st email I sent was bounced back to me.

Jesse,

Stewart has done some pretty cool things with Tonto such as supporting Transparency. However, as Tonto has moved along, I have encountered some issues with CCFs edited by early versions of Tonto such as Circular Button References, Color indices greater than 215, etc. Most of these issued can be identified prior to working with SNL by using CCFTools to decompile/recompile and verify that the CCF can be decompiled and then recompiled. This is the same procedure that SNL uses to add devices to a CCF.

Jesse, Lyndel,

I have had the same problem with ProntoEdit 4.05. I couldn't load my ccf file after adding about 800 albums with 7200 tracks. This is a stack size problem of ProntoEdit.
Use Editbin (EditBin /stack:10240000 prontoedit.exe) to increase the stack size. Then it'll work w/o crashing.

Wolfgang,

Is that a command line to run prontoedit? How would I use that line? Is there a bin file that I edit?

Sounds like you have the solution but I am not sure how to use it.

Can you tell me exactly how I would apply that line?

Thank you
Jesse

Jesse,

Editbin.exe is a program. It's a utility that's included in C/C++ compilers.

Wolfgang,

Thanks so much for the tip. Worked like a charm. I should have thought of that. Kicking myself in the butt.

Jesse,

I have sent several emails regarding the issues surrounding your CCF and SNL to both yourself and Olivier DeCouvreur. Hopefully you received these.

For Editbin.exe...

You will want to find someone who has Microsoft Visual Studio and ask them to run this command against your ProntoEdit4.exe file. Once they do this, you will want to keep an archive of that file.

The command is a C++ compiler utility to increase the stack size for an executable. The command line Wolfgang supplied increases the stack size from the default of 1MB to 10MB.

I just wanted to officially say thanks for all those that helped me get past the last hurdle.

Officially everything is working and Lyndel, Wolfgang, and Carl all came through.

Just in case anyone else has this problem, it all stemmed from the stack error. Pronto Edit could not handle the super complex ccf file that I was generating through SNL.

Once again you guys have proven that there are no limits to what you can do with a pronto.

Happy New Year Everybody.

I will be submitting my donations to everyone’s paypal account shortly. SNL is the best program out there when it comes to cataloging and putting your cd collection into a pronto.

All I can think to ask for now are some color graphics to spice things up.

If you are submitting donations, don't forget Olivier DeCouvreur. You can find a paypal donation link @ http://ccftools.free.fr.

Please remember, without CCFTools, SNL would not be possible.

With regard to Color Graphics, CarlSr has a set he might be willing to share. The Jukebox graphics in the docs can be licensed for a small fee per remote.

I, too, am new to this, and am finding it very difficult to put all of the pieces together. I am, however, a technical writer and would be willing to trade actually working up a starting doc in return for help and your cooperation with getting my system up. If you'd like to work with me on this, send me a direct message to [email protected] (I don't check in here very frequently)

Thanks

Dr. A.

You need the latest CCFDLL.DLL from http://ccftools.free.fr.

You will also want to ensure that you don't have a copy of an older CCFDLL.dll in the same subdirectory as SUPERNUDELIST.EXE. Before starting with SNL, you should ensure that you can decompile and recompile your current CCF using CCFTools. If you are able to do this, you should be better prepared for SNL.

David,

I'm currently working on a jump-start document. I will send what I have to your email. As the current author of SNL, I would appreciate feedback on the document however, I would still like to own and maintain it.

Thanks,
Lyndel

Brad,

I've been away from the forum for awile. Have
you found out something?

Best regards
Tore

I've hit a road block on this also. Maybe someone in here can give me a hand. First of all, I'm using a Sony DVD Jukebox (DVP-CX875P). I've used Bruce's MP3 tools (thank you!) and put together a solution whereby I am able to create a table in the Access database that takes into account the size of a CD, and breaks up my MP3 collection accordingly (and alphabetically, but that's my personal choice). I export the CSV and it makes its way to the Pronto, all this works great (surprisingly!).

My problem is this: When playing data CDs (MP3s) the Jukebox creates the idea of an album and tracks, as illustrated below (and for some reason the forum server is omitting my spaces which makes this look very flat instead of like a hierarchy):

Disc
'
'
'-- Album 1
'
'
'-- Track 1
'-- Track 2
'...
'-- Album 2
'-- Track 1
'...

So I can get SNL to load the right Disc, but I can't seem to get it to choose the right Album. If need be I can include the Album number in the Import (since all that is custom code anyway, adding another field is no big deal). The problem is having SNL punch in the Album number when choosing an Album under the Disc.

Anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks!

Roopesh

Thank you Lyndel. I believe I am back up and running... We need a place to post all ccf's that use the supernudelist...

Roopesh,

If you had a CD Changer, I'd have an immediate answer for you. I have a DVP-CX860 and have never been able to get Tracks to work as I wanted; simply because track input is not allowed until after a disc loads.

If you have ever waited on a disc to unload/load, you know there is no way to guage the amount of time it will take.

The only way you could possibly do this in SNL is to use the 'Pre Track Delay' and 'Before Track*' buttons to perform the following actions:

'Display' 'Cursor Down' 'Cursor Right'

Then key 'Track #'

And have 'After Track*' buttons perform the following actions:

'Enter' 'Display' Delay 200 'Display' a 2nd time to cancel the bitrate/layer screen.

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I don't think you will be successful in getting this to work with your 875. If you do, I'd love to hear about it.

FYI, I don't use MP3s as of yet but when I ran out of slots in my first CX400, I contemplated doing something similar by condensing multiple CDs onto one.

Regards,
Lyndel
