Using two jukeboxes. Is there a way to have the supernudelist send a command to change receiver inputs based on which player is actually playing a cd?

I have two sony changers and they can loop through analog signal using standard rca cables. But you cannot loop through signal using the optical cables. Is there a way then when selecting a disk to play, the supernudelist can send an ir code to change the inputs on my reciever? This way I can use the optical connections.

Hi
Jesseasi

Yes there is, there are before and after functions in the player edit screens which can be aliased to whatever command(s) you want sent. You will have to build two seperate players in your list such as CD1 and CD2 so that each player can send a different input selection code.

Lyndel I have resolved the issue I was having with the wrong list. I found I was only having this problem on 1 of my 2 machines I deleted all and rebuilt now it is fine. I have one last question I have hit. I wanted to change the pannel I jump to in the device/player when I first built the player I had it dvd panel1 and I want to change it to dvd main I can do this on the edit player but when I rebuild and look at the properties of the disk buttons they still point to dvd panel1. Do I need to drop and rebuild the player?

Bruce,

Please verify that your 'After Disc' button does not contain any Jumps to 'DVD-Panel1'. I suspect that this may be your problem.

The Pronto does not support multiple jumps so any jump in 'After Disc' would override any Jump set in the SNL Player.

Dropping and rebuilding the player will work and should not cause any adverse affects. I have changed the jump many times when editing my players.

I'll be out of town tonight and Saturday but I'll verify whether this is a bug when I return. If so, it will be fixed in the upcoming 2.0.0.1 release.

Thanks,
Lyndel

All,

This post serves as a resolution to reported problem of editing of 'Jumps' not working as expected.

The following discussion is intended to clarify how the 'Jump' operations work in SNL.

Following a disc/track selection, the user may want to jump to a specified device panel. This may be accomplished in the following 3 ways.

1. Add Jump to the Action List of your 'After Disc' or 'After Track 1 Digit' or 'After Track 2 Digits' buttons.

2. Check the 'Jump' checkbox on the Edit List Dialog and select a destination panel.

3. Check the 'Jump' checkbox on the Edit Player Dialog and select a destination panel.

The behavior is as follows:

SNL selects the first 'Jump' it finds in the order listed above when generating the List entries.

Example #1, A 'Jump' in your 'After*' buttons' Action Lists prevents items 2 and 3 from being processed.

Example #2, specifying a 'Jump' in the Edit List Dialog prevents any 'Jump' specified in the Edit Player Dialog from being executed.

Why does all this matter?

Some use a DVD Changer to play both CDs and DVDs. They want to have different devices in their CCFs for CDs or DVDs.

More than likely, they will have a single player defined in SNL (MyDVDPlayer).

They will have 2 Lists (Movies and Music).

In this case, the user wants to jump to a CD device when a disc is selected from 'Music' and to a DVD device when a disc is selected from 'Movies'.

Here, the user has 2 options.

1) embed the Jump into the 'After *' buttons

Or

2) simply specify the required Jump in the Edit List Dialogs.

Option 2 is the better choice because the user can then make the change directly in SNL without having to edit the source CCF to make the change.

Furthermore, doing this prevents confusing unexpected behavior when a 'Jump' is specified in SNL but appears differently when the output CCF is generated.

Happy Holidays,
Lyndel

*** BUG ALERT Version 2.0.0.1 ***

Thanks to Wolfgang Scheele for reporting this one.

The latest version does not fully support the new Header Icon Filenames

'Artists_Header*.bmp'
'Discs_Header*.bmp'
'Tracks_Header*.bmp'

due to a cut and paste error and my fat fingers in the code.

The older filenames...

'Symbol_Header*.bmp'
'Artist_Header*.bmp'
'Disc_Header*.bmp'

still work as expected as a fallback for the newer filenames.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

*** ICON FILENAME CHANGE WARNING ***

If you are currently using the

'AlphaFinalBar*.bmp' icon filenames,

They will be renamed to

'Alphabet_FinalBar*.bmp'

in the next release available after the first of the year. This is to support future expansion and consistency in filenames should we ever get panel-specific Final Bar Images as was done with the headers.

I'm also considering jumping a number in the next release to make the version 2.0.0.3 just for grins.

Lyndel - OK, here is the support thread and here is my question for the general population... is there a FAQ or User Tips that will get me up to speed on how to use the product.

NO CD cahnger, just a Sony DVD Megachanger (the original) and I am using a Color CCF.

Can anyone help me? Or point me in the right direction?

(I love the program, sung its praises in another thread)

TIA-Carl

Fellow SNL Users,

Anyone want to take a crack at getting Carl up and running? Has anyone created a textual tutorial that he might use?

Carl,

You might want to look at Leo's website listed in the docs.

I would like to put together a step-by-step tutorial but it will be rather lengthy and may not make it on the site or to the docs just yet.

I've found that the best way to learn is by example.

Here's what I'm willing to do. I would like to use this as a stepping stone and modify your CCF and provide you some sample configuration files in the process. Please understand that I did not write SNL originally and am not responsible for the lack of help text, etc... I'll do my best to get you rolling.

If you are game to exploring your CCF once I'm done, I am willing to create a quick and dirty SNL configuration for you and plug it in to your existing CCF.

If you are interested, zip up your original CCF and email it to me. I will also need to know what DVD Changer Model you use and whether you have 'Bitrate' or 'Layer' active (Controlled by the Sony Setup Menu).

It may take me until early next week to get you going due to things going on this weekend. I would like to use this as an exercise to proof any tutorial that I might develop. I also hate to do walk-throughs via email. If you have Yahoo Messenger, please indicate that in the email. I'm also game to using the telephone.

Let me know how you want to proceed,
Lyndel

I don't have any concrete ideas yet, but I'll
be hitting this similar problem next week as I
implement full MP3 control for my jukebox. I'll
want to do a similar thing...so I'll let you know
how I worked around it.

Best,
Brad

Brad,

I have two other questions I hope someone can help me with:

1.
I’ve ripped my Rolling Stones collection to Mp3s (394 mp3 files, numbered from 001 to 394)
And imported the .csv to SNL.
But when it shows up in SNL, the list only consist of 39 tracks.

Is it to large for SNL. or what?

2.
There are also four other mp3 tracks from different groups, that the SNL ignore. I can play them in Winamp, they are all mp3s, and every thing seems to be normal with the files, but after I’ve imported the csv into SNL, they wont show up in the SNL.
Any idea?

Thanks!!

Tore
