David,

Unfortunately, you will need to be a little clearer in your questions. Is the CCF you are attempting to load the "Input" or "Output" CCF? I must presume it is the Output CCF that was generated as a result of SNL execution.

I'm not Karnak the Magnificent (If you are old enough to remember Johnny Carson). Please use Winzip, and zip your Input CCF, your SN*.xml files from the SN_Config subdirectory and send to me via email. I will also need to know the version numbers from both PE and Tonto that you are using so as to try and reproduce your problem.

Before we go to all this effort, can you verify that you can decompile and recompile your input CCF using CCFTools?

Drop me an email with everything I asked for packaged as a single zip file and I'll see what I can do.

Sorry I was being vague. I reloaded an older CCF and was able to get it to work.

many thanks for the reply about the stack size problem. As far as tonto is concerned I keep getting the message "... is not a valid ccf file". Also tonto doesn't seem to have an emulator. I looked at leo's site but this only seems to point you to his download peupstack which you say doesn/t work. I don't really understand what you mean by MS c++ and using editbinexe. Is this all difficult to do? Am I better off simply splitting the lists or is it beneficial to increase the stack size in any event

Barry,
Splitting your lists may help but I don't think it will. Try not displaying tracks and see if that solves your problem. (Use 'Levels' to accomplish this).

MS C++ refers to Microsoft Visual Studio's C++ compiler. Both Wolfgang Scheele and I have spoken with Leo regarding a new version of PEUpstack and he has agreed to do it. Keep checking that site for a newer version.

With regard to the invalid ccf message, please make sure you are using the latest version of Tonto.

As far as not being able to find information, hit this URL and read the last line of the PEUpstack section.

Any C++ programmer buddies you may have will understand how to use Editbin.exe.

I've been using SNL (version 2.0.0.1 I think) and it's been working really well, but the look of it is really not what I want after having purchased the RC9200. I Tried experimenting with different font colours, and it helped but still pretty boring stuff. Then I downloaded version 2.0.0.3 today, and it included some cool graphics. OK, so I'm a big idiot! I think they may have something to do with bmp overide or something similar. I read the appendix to the manual, but still don't understand how to use it. Could someone help me please!

Also, is there anyway I could define my own user defined bmps for individual discs? Would like to use album cover buttons. Now I can of course replace them individually, but I guess that will be overwritten each time I re-execute after adding a new CD to my collection?!

Earth to Christopher... Welcome Back....

Hopefully, you did not think that all effort I supplied to write and support the Color Version was simply to support text colors on buttons with B&W images...

If that's what you thought, then shame on you as it is now obvious to me that you have not been following the release notes very closely (even for 2.0.0.1) and seen my RC9200 jukebox layout images that are embedded in the document (See List-Specific Overrides section). FYI, I only support the latest version. Please stay current.

Now, on to the good stuff...

Please see http://www.theheartofthecorporatebeast.com for an overview of image overrides. You can also start by NOT reading the appendix but beginning with the Basic and Advanced Icon Support sections.

Since you have the RC9200, I'll attempt to explain here. SNL will look for image filenames based on BMP images located in one of the following subdirectories(folders) that hangs off the subdirectory where SuperNudelist.EXE is installed.

For example. SNL is installed in c:\SNL

The image override subdirectory you would create for the RC9200 is :
C:\SNL\COLOR_Override_Large

For the ProntoPro:
C:\SNL\COLOR_Override

For the RC5200:
C:\SNL\BMP_Override_Large

and for RC5000/5000i or TSU1000/2000s:
C:\SNL\BMP_Override

SNL looks for BMP files named according to the list in the release notes. As far as List-Specific image overrides go, assume you have a list called MyCDs.

For the RC9200, you would create subdirectory
C:\SNL\COLOR_Override_Large\MyCDs

and place any images that are specific to the 'MyCDs' List there (An example is a custom background image 'Background.bmp'). As documented in the release notes regarding the search path for files...

SNL first searches for any List-specific images then falls back to the Color_Override_Large subdirectory and repeats the search. If no file is found, then the built-in icon is used (Built-Ins are B&W only)

As you have JUST recently discovered the Color capabilities and image overrides, how about taking the time to check out the file section and picking up Tom's Images (SNL now has its own section and 3 sets of graphics are currently available). The Alphabet images supplied with SNL 2.0.0.3 were built specifically for Tom. Having the 9200, you will need to redesign (using the image editor of your choice) the background.bmp images as they are sized specifically for the 219 pixel high screen. Also, my jukebox images with instructions on how to install them are available for a nominal fee. Again, see the release notes.

Open Tom's file in WINZIP and look at the Folder Name for each file. Hopefully, things should start to make more sense.

No, custom images based on Artist,Disc, or Track are not supported unless you edit the items manually. This is also not something you'd want to do as the memory requirements for images would be horrendous.

Lyndel,

Thanks for your reply. I'll try to follow your instructions when I get home tonight. Meanwhile I must admit that as a lawyer (which still is an honourable and respected position in Norway I'd like to point out, so no hate mail please) a PC is really only a glorified and silent typewriter to me. I therefore understand little of what is explained here, but if it's explained well I don't need to understand, but can simply follow the instructions and everything will work wonderfully. Hasn't happened so far, but :-)

I understand what you're saying regarding memory requirements. However, the reason I switched from my old b&W Pronto TS1000 to the RC9200 was colour and memory, and I really would like to use album cover buttons, even if I must replace them one at a time. I admit there may this may not be rational to anyone else, but at least I am hoping it will impress the h*ll out of my hopefully future girlfriend who doesn't appear to be impressed by anything else I have been able to come up with so far..... Therefore, is there anyway I could avoid overwriting existing icon buttons in a CD list when re-executing?

And since I have your attention, I have seen that you use DVD Profiler to organize your collection. I have posted a few questions regarding the possible interfacing of SNL and Profiler under the DVD discussion forum, subject How many DVDs do people own. Would you look at it please?

1.thanks for your reply. as i am not a programmer and don;t have access to ms c++ i guess i'll have to wait for leo to update the peupstack software.

2. I downloaded tonto from a site www.giantlaser.com. Can you confirm the latest version so i can check if i have got it.

3. In an earlier message i see you gave advice on how to use track selection with the sony cdp cx450 using the track (h) button in the cmd 1-2-3 modes from your sony 400 file in the files section. I have tried this and put in "enter" in the after track selection for both single and 2 digit and it doesn't work. However if i use the 10> button in the pre track selection for 2 digit only and no "enter" afterwards this seems to work. Am i using the wrong cmd 1-2-3 modes from the wrong file?

The latest Tonto is 1.43 (BTW Tonto automatically check for the latest version when it starts and will prompt you to D/L if you are not at the current release).

Cgroth

There is no file transfer capability between DVDProfiler and SNL at this piont. I beleive the newer version of profiler uses an Access format to store your info. As far as i know the great and powerfull McGee has no immediate plans for a conduit between the two.

Barry,

The Track (H) button is a discrete IR code that will allow track selection. Your 'Before Track 1 Digit' and 'Before Track 2 Digits' must use this code.

If you do a search on the files section searching for 'Lyndel', you will find a CCF in a zip file named something like SonyCDChanger.zip. This CCF contains on the 'Track/Keypad' panel, the IR code you need.

If you can't figure this out, shoot me an email and I'll send you a CCF that you can use to Hook SNL into your changer. Please indicate in your email what Command Mode your changer is set for(1,2, or 3). (Selectable by either menu option or hard-switch on the back of the unit).

Christopher,

I don't use DVD Profiler, I use Catraxx. Currently, donations for SNL have been less than $200.00 USD. Roughly equivalent to 4 hours pay on my day job. I already have at least 240 or so hours work in on the existing color changes. So, I humbly ask you. You want me to spend another 80+ hours working on SNL for what? Pennies on the hour?

I have all the functionality required by me and really want a break from SNL for a while.

Regards,
Lyndel

The zip is sony-cd-cdpcx400. I am using cmd 1 and the track (h) button does not work. the 10> which is also in the track/keypad panel does work as long as it is only used on 2 digits and no "enter" button is used for after track selection.

Barry,

I am almost sure that the Track (h) worked on the CX450. Maybe something changed from Sony.

Leave 'Before Track 1 Digit' empty.
Have 'After Track 1 Digit' be Enter.

Assign 'Before Track 2 Digits' to be >10
Leave 'After Track 2 Digits' empty.

Shoot me an email with the results of this experiment.

Lyndel,

"...really want me to.....?", oh yes, but really expect you to, no guess not.

Just one last question (I hope), is there anyway I can re-execute SNL without removing any particular disc buttons I might already have replaced with cover art icons? Or maybe a way of merging a few new disc from a list into an SNL created device list?
