I am fairly new at programming my neo,so excuse this silly question.I am trying to program my neo from an x-10 remote(to control my lights),and I see you have posted all the these letters(next to the units),what do I do with them? Can I put those straight into the remote,or do I have to use neoedit?

Kevin.
I have a Radio Shack 15-1919R (part of a 6 in 1 RF Remote Control system) Aboout 3-4 years old. Not sure if they still sell it. The base station was originally bought as an optional add on to a "all-in-one" type remote control. These codes as posted definitely work with this device to control the x10 units.

Scott:
You need to download neohacker.jar Look for it in the files section. A pre-requisite for neohacker is to have java runtime installed on your pc. Java runtime is downloaded from Sun.
Once Neohacker is installed, you first use the neoedit program to upload the configuration from your neo, and save it on you PC. You then use neohacker to edit the " .ncf " file and copy and paste the codes into the "actions" branch.

The Neohacker only allows modification of codes alread in pages or buttons that have been created either directly on the remote or created in neoedit.

Take some time, don't get too frustrated... it will all make sense eventually.

Hey M4um, can you send me your ncf file that has the x10 in it? I can't hit the AOL site listed above. My email address is:

Thanks!

Steve,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I don't see that product in RadioShack's catalog. The IR543 they now sell is the same one I got. Do you think increasing the Duration value in NeoHacker might be the trick?

Thanks!

I started this darn thing & haven't had time to get back to it till now....

Due to time constraints, I have not down loaded & tried the utilities created by Pat & Charles, but from what I have read you guys deserve a "Hats Off" from all "NEO" Users & Abusers!!

I will say I would go along with the posting Today by GregD, he has is right, this is a great remote, yes it takes a lot of stroking & teaching, not unlike a "New Puppy" or.....

Pat & Charles, have you or Steve, or Kevin, or M4um, or Swally54, or Anyone reached the point where you can up-load X-10 "ncf" files to this site???

As I noted in my origination of this string, I use the "Macro Module IR" for my TV lighting & security cams around the house, & as noted this works fine w/ NEO, or for that matter anything that puts out IR. But I would still like to use direct access to my IR543.

I run all 16 unit codes on one house code, & 8 ea. additional unit codes on 2 additional house codes, but only want to directly access the primary 16 + dim & bright, all on & all off, so if any of you are at the point of uploading "ncf" files let me know....

After uncounted hours & short of "X-10", the only "Thing" giving me fits is my "LITE-ON" SK-7100 IR Computer Keyboard, if anyone has thoughts on stroking this "Puppy" let me know...PLEASE...

I view my second networked PC on my 64" DTV & this Keyboard is great at about 20' w/ its "Joy Stick" Mouse it makes "Couch Potato(e)" surfing fun... & all I am trying to teach it is basic mouse moves & a few function keys, so again ant thoughts would be appceriated...

Again THANKS to ALL of YOU...Got to run will get back to this ASAP...I am controling 14 devices + the X10MM & when I get the time I will list them to see if I can be of help to others...

It seems that the ncf for the RC3200 is different from the ncf for the NEO. I have the RC3200. Does anyone know if the X10 codes specified in this thread should work on the RC3200? If not, do you know how I can figure out the codes for the RC3200?

Brent, all you have to do is rename the .ncf file to .zip

Then change the zip comment to 001 ,then rename back
to .ncf and the file will open with rc3200

Maybe one of the programers could write a simple conversion program for this?

Steve,
Thanks for the help. It seems that the latest version of WinZip doesn't like the format of the ncf file. After I edit the comment and try to save the file, I get an error dialog saying that the file has an invalid structure and refuses to save the changes.

I got around this by using NEOHacker which can open both types of ncf. I cut and pasted the X10 codes from the NEO file into my RC3200 file. But I get no response from the IR543. That's why I asked if the codes for the NEO and the RC3200 are identical.

If you look in the files section of remotecentral or Yahoo Pronto you will see that the X10 codes have been posted.

I have only gotten the Neo to learn 3 X10 codes. This is from a X10 6 in 1 remote with the RF turned off, IR turned on. ON,C1,C7. It took over 100 attempts. Works great with the IR542 if you can get it to learn the codes. I will post the .ncf if I ever get it
finished.

Omigod! He's right! JetPilot's learned codes DO work and they solve the "distance" problem!

Here's what he has so far; let's see some Excel guru work the bugs out of Pronto2Neo and divine the rest of the codes:

Jetpilot's codes also work for the RC3200 whereas the previous codes did not!
