...From a logitech expert i heard that there will be a One
with the color buttons for Europe.

If this will become true, that´s the thing many of us are waiting for :)

No.

I'm guessing that everybody here who understands why these
hard buttons are crucial is European and everybody else
is American, yes?

I'm American and absolutely understand the need for this. I really want hard color buttons!

Yes, and if we can get our European brothers and sisters to agree to shop for us and ship the remotes here to the states, how sweet would life be? :)

Forgive me it I missed this, but does the One support a "media" button like the 676 so I can program in all my movies in the 400 disc DVD changer I have?

As a DirecTV user also that has two D* remotes that utilize the "colored buttons", AND also with remotes for a Panasonic LCD HDTV and a Panasonic Blu-Ray DVD player that have the "colored buttons", I also believe that a remote with these features (that existing dedicated remotes already have) would be a worthwhile universal remote available to the masses for sale.

I have 7 remotes and have no universal yet, but am interested in the Harmony ONE. I will most likely buy it....BUT if (just a matter of time) they come out with one with the "colored buttons", I probably will move to it at the time.

Waiting in line for the ONE.

Maybe they just rushed this one out for the 2008 CES and will just like the past give us the consumer a remote with the coloured buttons.??????

I've asked this question on AVS and now here. Still trying to find the answer.
To someone who has actually played with the "One", how many icon based "favorites" can it do? The 880 can do 16 as two pages of 8 each. What can the One do and how is it laid out?
Thanks!
Joe

I was pretty sure someone already made claims that the CSR said 6x4, wasn't it? Maybe that someone was you and you simply wanted confirmation? I have 3 pages worth carried forward from the H1000 but did not bother trying to fill it up to the max yet but can try tonight

BTW 18 days straight without any crashes or hang ups yet...

Does anyone know if the new One will support a soft "Media"
button so that I can access individual discs in my CD
Jukebox? This feature was dropped on the 720.

Yup that was me, but without confirmation, it's just hearsay. I got no response there so was looking here for some measure of confirmation. Did I just get some??

How is the One charged? I'm getting ready to return my THIRD 880 because it won't sit right in the dock and hold a charge. The One looks awesome, but not if I won't be able to keep it charged....

The setup is similiar to 880/890 using a flat charging dock. I had the 880 before and experienced the flimpsy contacting issue myself but so far with the "one" it seems very solid. The contacts on the remote are a lot larger than before and the contact pins form the dock stick out a lot more also spring loaded mechanismn.

- I can confirm 4 pages with 6 buttons for favorite channels each and no option to add any additional pages so the CSR was right for a change ;)

Squareeyes
- There is no hard "Media" button but I found a predefined Media button under my HTPC device .. weired thing is the actual HTPC remote doesn't even have a media button but I guess it might be representing the "Media Centre" Button from the keyboard :P
