Hi hugbug,

Just wished to thank you for your contribution - I found your "harmonymod-1.2.xpi" worked well for me first time and made a significant improvement to the I_Explorer / Official Harmony version - despite an occasional message apologising that it was an unsupported browser!

I hope Logitech read feedback and improve their product to take in your improvements to their much less functional design.

Regards,

Top marks hugbug!

If Logitech won't open up more details for their software, it's up to clever people like you to do it - it's a shame though, perhaps the solution for Logitech would be an "expert mode" for using the software for people like us who want a little more control.

I've finally managed to set up some basic "macros" using raw learning but it is a pain in the neck getting the timings right.

A great development for your Harmony Mod would be a way to view the code generated for Raw learnt commands and possibly even be able to modify it somehow. Even if its some kind of complex hex sequence.

Until they re-implement the feature for multiple commands per "button" some way of exposing the Raw stuff would be great.

I'd even consider making PayPal donations to encourage hugbug to continue his development... anyone else??

Mark.

Hi Mark Shelley,
the mod can only modify web-pages to make them more user-friendly. All things, that involve access to server and/or database, are unfortunately out of our control.

As for donation - thank you very much, but this is not neccessary :)

Best Regards,
hugbug.

Are you saying you got this mod to work with Internet Explorer? If so what version?

I'm running Vista Ultimate with Internet Explorer 7. Can anyone comment on whether this mod work in that environment?

I understand it's designed for FireFox and I can simply install that, just curious.

No it will not work in ie7. It just says it's an improvement over the normal page displayed in ie and official software.

hugbug, Thanks for creating this. It works fine for me.

But I have a request - is it possible to automatically close up the gaps left by deleted entries in the Additional Buttons list? I've been taking default device layouts that have way too many non-applicable functions and deleting everything but the ones I need, so I end up with 8 or 9 functions scattered over a range of 50-60 mostly-empty slots. The Harmony site doesn't remove them when you save the button configuration, so the only way is to painstakingly click each one up the list one slot at a time until it reaches to top.

Hmm, I could've sworn when I used the more recent web interface (where they now show the additional buttons in groups of six (for the 720) or four (for the 520) that it did close up the empty slots. I wanted some buttons to be across from each other - e.g. prev day, next day, and intentionally left a few empty positions. I was surprised that it removed all the empty slots and shifted everything up, at least when transferred to the remote. I think if I left a label in there with no command assigned, it wouldn't shift up though.

Nope. I checked again to be sure, but it definitely does not close up the empty slots.

I think if you're only ending up with 8 or 9 functions under "Additional Buttons", it would simply be more expedient to modify the first 8 or 9 buttons on the page to match the functions you want, and then delete all the buttons after that if you don't need them. You won't have to move anything, and you only have to modify 8 rows.

I suppose, but I didn't realize that I would eventually get down to so few - it was a gradual process.

[Lament mode]

*Sigh*, Harmony's web interface is so darned frustratingly inflexible!

Why can't they just give us the ability to export and import our configuration via XML file for local backup and editing? I'm not asking for offline access to the code database, which seems to make Logitech paranoid - just the text values of labels and commands.

No longer working for me ether :(

When I go to www.members.harmonyremote.com I get the message

Software Update Available
We have detected you are using a previous release of our client software. Please upgrade the software in order to make use of its enhanced features.

The only real option you have from here, is to click next.

Once into the setup part of the site, none of the features of the plugin are available.

Only have 1 tab open, and using version 1.2 of the plugin. (not available on the Mozilla site) :(
