I have had the beeping issue since I got the 880 (some years ago now), but I just make sure it's seated properly in the cradle and there's no problem. I think (just my opinion) that the real issue is the light weight of the remote itself. I would think that a light weight placed on top of the remote, such as an open paperback will keep it seated (nothing heavy). Or, you could just "jiggle" it like I do to make sure it's seated. To me, it's a small issue compared to the many benefits.
