Mike -

I think we need another rule dealing with the deceased notifying the proper authorities within this hallowed group to give notice of their untimely demise within a reasonable period of time.

My apologies in advance if there is already a rule pertaining to this. I must have missed it after my seventh (or is it ninth or tenth) Crown Royal on the rocks.

Goodnf, please refer to Rules 2, 11 and 36. For the near-dead or not-sure-if-dead, please refer to Rule 34.

Thank you!

Sir,

Please be advised that "breaking the rules" is expressly against the rules. Please refer to Rules 15, 31, 32 and 36. HOWEVER, it is my understanding that a New Rule is currently being drafted which would allow for "breaking the rules" under conditions specified therein. This draft will soon be released for Public Comment for a period of time specified in that Preliminary Draft. After the Comment period and based upon comments received, general conditions and the day of the week, the Department Head (MrK) has sole authority to amend, cancel or adopt the rule as Law of the Forum.

Therefore, we request that you refrain from "breaking the rules" until such action is specifically allowed by the rules in effect at that time.

Thank you!

OK, I understand rule #2, but it doesn't address my concern about the deceased giving proper notice.

Rule #11, as I understand it, only states MINIMUMS. I believe I've got that one down pat, as they say.

When I got to rule #36, I was apparently too influenced by obeying rule #11, at which point I either a) went semi-blind, b) was hit by a blind semi, c) became one of the aforementioned deceased (most probably due to (b) above) or d) Hitler took over my body. Iss hot meir seir gut geshmect!

Sir,

We are sensitive to your need to "break the rules", a need apparently shared by many Brits - thus the on-going effort to update the rules to allow certain specified opportunities to "break the rules".

One of the delaying factors in this effort is a report from the Philosophical Advisory Section of the Rules Department. Apparently, there is some concern as to whether or not "breaking the rules" under a rule allowing said action remains "breaking the rules", or reverts to "following the rules", rendering said rule ineffective or, conversely, effective. Although problematic, we are confident that these issues can be worked out if enough words are thrown at it.

We appreciate your feedback!

Thank you!
