Does anybody has SABA EV 630 discrete codes?
I got this VCR with other SABA remote control (TC 521).
I have only basic features from this RC. No menu or time adjust, etc. So if anybody has advanced codes for it, I'll very appreciate.

Additionaly, codes for Saba EV100G doesn't work with my VCR :(

Try any JVC codes. In the early days, Saba, Normende, Telefunken got machines from JVC and assembled only a new cover.

I don't recognise the protocol. It is NOT JVC protocol and it is NOT the protocol I've seen with other SABA VCR's.

I did a text search of all the CML (large collection) and CCF (small collection) samples I've downloaded and there are no examples of this protocol anywhere in those samples.

I think I understand the structure of the protocol. If you know how to use MakeHex, I could post a .irp file that would tell MakeHex to construct all possible commands for this device (if you want to do tedious testing to find the ones you're missing).

When I said I had no samples of this protocol, that was because I hadn't downloaded the CCF for the EV100G. It is the same protocol and the few I checked are even the same command numbers. It is a different device number.

The signals in that CCF have an ugly kludge to work around the toggle bit in the protocol (which normally would keep you from using the same command twice in a row).

The toggle bit could somewhat complicate the process of rebuilding this with MakeHex. It's not clear whether the variety (one function to another) in the way it was kludged for that EV100G just indicates it was done with a less powerful tool than MakeHex or indicates some real need based on the repeat characteristics of the commands.

Have you looked at the first 13 burst pairs of these learned commands. If you sum up the intervals, they are all exactly 80,679 uS long. There is an usual variation in the timing lengths within the burst pairs but all divisible by 127 uSec. I think I counted six different burst pairs. So I suspect 4 burst pairs with two of them with reversed polarity or something that gives you the appearance of more than four. It is also possible that it is like Zenith with a more complicated One and Zero definition.

This would normally look like bad batteries or something but there seems to be a pattern but I can't figure it out.

I have a meeting for sevral hours, so I thought I would toss this brain teaser back in your lap unless (the very likely possibility) you have already figured it out.

I didn't look nearly that closely and now I wonder if we're looking at the same thing. I just see 12 simple '0's and '1's encoded in the most typical way.

In the above sample I see pairs like

Those are all '0's. You didn't think those tiny differences meant something did you?

I see 0019 00AF and 0019 00B4. Those are '1's.

What did I miss?

BTW, this is also the UEI VCR/0320 protocol 004B discussed recently in the JP1 group for a SABA VCR.

Maybe your SABA use Thomsons ir-code format (with toggle-bit). Try a Thomson VCR ccf.

You are probably right but every command has EXACTLY the same total length for the first 13 burst pairs. The variances are all exactly 127 uSec. So timing variations seem a little higher than usual one maybe two periods (these are all 5 periods except for the final off).

This is mitigated by the repeat on a few that isn't exact but even they agree or are off by 127 uSec.

Maybe I have been looking at this stuff too long. I guess conspiracy theories are next ;-)
