I've spent the last week living in a level 3 (GET OUT) area.
I sent the family north to stay with other family members but stayed to deal with this disaster.
I stayed to protect my property from fire and potential looters!
I'm a fighter and never give up!
I don't care who the 'opponent' is!

Thankfully, the fires only came within a half mile, the looters didn't show up(at my house!), and we are now in a level 2 (get ready) zone as of today.

The smoke is horrendous and I'm praying for rain!

Now the work begins.

I'm going to volunteer to help the others that weren't as fortunate as us.

happy all is good and good on ya for helping others

WE are the dumb shits freaking out over it, as well as the dumb shits starting the fires.

Of course, when people are involved, it's worse than that.
We decide we don't like our places burning down, so we create fired departments. Of course, their mission is not to control, ahead of time, the fires that WILL come.

Then, after a few years and places not burning, people do the equivalent of building in the flood plain: they build in places that used to burn every five to ten years. Of course nobody's telling them to expect fires.

And the fire departments work like HELL to contain every fire.

Et cetera.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I am thinking that fires used to be a seasonal thing, but were pretty light weight except for every 10 years or so. Now the major fires seem to happen every single summer. That feels like a distinct change to me.

Must be climate change, ya know?

Yeah but that climate change is only happening in the U.S.
The entire west coast is burning with fires everywhere but they stop at the north and south borders. These are deliberate for sure and a few of the arsonists have been caught. Its beyond extremely bad.

I actually had a little semi fresh air for a bit today and I'm pretty sure I got high from it.

Actually there are huge fires in siberia right now. Global warming is happening everywhere except in the minds of a political sect in the US.

Thus, they should be saying there are no "looters"? Uh huh.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

The beetle kill in Colorado is just a disaster for that state and fires. In some areas there are 70-90% dead pine trees, they burn like gas.

I live in the Rockies and drive by thousands of beetle killed tress daily just driving up and down 70. Let alone when we go adventure out in the forrest, which is weekly. State, federal, and privately owned property all looks the same.

For the comments about about climate change only in the US, when did the polar ice caps move south? I was not aware there was a purchase offer on Antarctica. Then again, world geography is not a strength of Americans.
When good enough is not good enough.
