There have been some comments on other sites about restaurants and fast food places, and should they remain open.

this is a good read about the virus and take out / grocery food.

This is going to go on for months.

This is a fact. No getting around it.

Someone shared a simple reason why, and it's all about numbers.

Person A has the virus and no symptoms, so goes about things as normal

Person A has contact with several others, say 10 and gives them the virus.

None of those people have any symptoms, so they continue as usual, and each gives it to 10 of their friends and co workers.

See where this is going?

The growth can be exponential in no time at all, before person A is found to be infected.

Stupidity will not help.

I wish we could come up with a better term than "exponential". While this concept is obvious to most of us, I don't think that it resonates with average Middle America Joe. Another difficult concept is the delay. The results of any behavior change will not show in the trends for about two weeks. Plus, if there is a downward trend, Joe will relax the behavior control and there will be another peak soon after.

It's funny you say that, Ben Shapiro said the very same thing a few days ago.  We understand basic counting, but it's nearly impossible for us to understand exponential growth.

This is a very good article. Should put people at ease about eating delivered or prepared foods.

It would be easier for more to understand if people had paid attention in 4th grade Math class.

Don't know if this was posted somewhere in this thread, but Holy Sh&t.

Bill Gates NAILED this.  We would not be in this situation if the advice was followed, and we would not be tanking our economy right now over a worse than normal flu:

https://www.ted.com/talks/bill_gates_the_next_outbreak_we_re_not_ready?language=en

Bill Gates no doubt has a corona hard-on with all this going on. His viral wet dream has come true!

All planned ahead of time...

I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

I know that corona is not the flu, but being a virus, how do you think the warming temperatures and spring moving on will help the virus transmission issue?

Influenza tends to die off once the weather warms.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

They have said the corona virus will not fair well once the weather improves.... Southern Hemisphere and warmer climates seem to be fairing much better.

Of course, we got 4 inches of snow in south chicagoland last night....

If higher temperature helps, they could tell people to crank up the heat.

But we are fine as the Chinese government is handing out the latest statistics. What could be better? Hey, they had ZERO new cases on the last report! Isn't that simply AMAZING?

But we tend to spend more time outdoors in warm weather and not packed so closely inside huddling from the cold. Spread will be reduced somewhat when we are not packed together.

Warm weather. How is Florida doing? How about Australia? Didn’t summer just end there?
