Until they swap the volume and channel buttons, they should not even be considered as an option!!!!!!!!! Pure ridiculousness!!!!!!!!

This is annoying as all get out.

Another oddity, why does the AD4/AD8 power on with a volume up/down command?
Nothing else in the industry I can think of that does that.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

How anyone can use RTI and not be out of business is beyond me. More power to you!

Not sure how anyone can be a C4 dealer when there are over a million of them in the general area. How do you compete with bids? Throw in a free bottle of Moet? RTI has been great, and some of the comments are off base. For those of you who had problems with RTI remotes many years ago, that has been put to rest. it's nice to have a system that you can program to look and work exactly the way you want.

RTI was the problem I had, not the equipment. I did have one bad remote, but RTI's handling of everything was so piss poor that I refused to go back to them.

I had virtually every remote in the die and they were every model but the t4(fugliist) remote ever built.
Also how they handled basically everything was exactly as golden said.

There are way more trunk slammers pitching rti than there are ligit C4 dealers
As for competing against other dealers selling c4, you need to learn sales 101
Also with c4 you need to actually make a commitment to the product, vs rti that will sell to anyone with a pulse.

How about the more recent T2i? I sold 2 of them and the reboots were frequent. I am far from the only one who had to deal with this.

I haven't touched much RTI beside those 2 systems since we dropped them years back.

If you only had one bad remote, what did they do that was piss poor?

Well that one remote was brand new out of the box. They would not replace it because they had no replacements. Geniuses discontinued the remote before there was a replacement available, and did not hold any stock to replace bad remotes. DUMB. They said it was a firmware issue, and would NOT give me the firmware to load. I had to send the remote to them on my dime (brand new remote mind you, right out of the box), with a 2 week turnaround and now a brand new client with no remote to control the nice shiny new system we just installed.

Beyond that, had multiple jobs with firmware issues in which their own tech support could not fix the issues, did not offer firmware and left us hanging out to dry. From the RTI forums, I determined there were firmware updates that tech support DID have available to send. Called in and still was told there is no firmware. Was able to get it from one of the forum members in the end. Had many hours in to trouble shooting issues, many calls to tech support, and they could not help, when all we needed was the firmware that they had available to them, which we specifically asked for BY FIRMWARE NUMBER. Screw them.

Yeah that's really annoying. The whole CMA and "never heard of that" gets old and unfortunately that's how it goes with most companies.

Like I said, we've been using RTI for a little over a year and haven't had one issue with hardware with the exception of a processor damaged from a lightning strike. Maybe they had issues before we haven't seen it.

We switched from TC.

What was your problem with TC? Nothing but simplicity and reliability on my end aside from the SNP-2....

Ipad license, lol

We haven't touched RTI in a number of years after all the failures and insanely fragile remotes... but we sold one T2i a couple months ago. I've had to go service it 3 times and we just had to send it in for repair.

I don't get the fragility of these things. I don't think the attitude should be "this is a delicate piece of technology, treat it with care", it should be "this is a thing that is going to be handled and tossed around on a daily basis, we should build it to be able to handle that."

Kinda like the first Denon AVR I decided to try in 5+ years, after having so many failures... I needed network control, and the AVR just decided that it didn't have a network card in it anymore. Had to go back for repair. Ok, fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice....

And the polar opposite is URC!

I still remember the trainer throwing their remote across the room to prove how tough they were.

He picked it up and it still worked!
