Ever had a really bad day where you've stood to lose a customer because of a manufacturer's poor service?

Thanks to the power of the internet, it is now possible for me to proclaim to others that Honeywell Video's service SUCKS!

Why?

#1 Arguing about fixing products under warranty
#2 Rude people
#3 Sending a repair back to me COD cash or cashier's check without first NOTIFYING ME!
#4 Not returning telephone calls
#5 Hi rate of breakdown

Anyone else have any experiences to share so that others may wish to think twice about selling their products to valuable customers?

(Sorry, I'm letting off some major steam)

Non yet that deserve to be bashed but Sonance deserves to be commended. Great people and quick to resolve any issues without BS.

All being dropped for same reasons!

Horrible service, terrible communications, leading to VERY upset customers...

Honeywell had purchased Ademco and ADI and it's down hill from here. All the normal Joe's that were there the last ten years are suddenly gone and the credit department is in INDIA!!! I haven't received a statement in 3 months. THey are putting there sucky name on all the alarm equipment. Gaaaaaaaaad! The Honywell sales people used to always say Ademco alarm equipment sucked, now it's all they offer.

I don't understand it. I thought that Ademco was a pretty good name in security. I could care less about the equipment saying "Honeywell". In fact, I think that the Ademco name carried more weight to it.

With that being said, are you considering switching suppliers?

When I think Honeywell, I think thermostats.

What do they make that custom A/V installers would have an interest in...if the service were any good? i gotta suggest that their marketing could be worse than their customer service!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Maybe they've taken General Electric's lead by applying their name to security products?

Honeywell is now applying their name to pretty much everything that used to be called Ademco including alarm panels and CCTV stuff.

Their security tech support is really nice and friendly, but man, call CCTV service and you'll be greeted by a "what the hell do you want?" type of answer.

I just know that a lot of ADI/Ademco people have been cleared out or left. I have been using the stuff good and bad (now pretty good) for twenty years and I hate to see this re-branding and out-sourcing occuring. Who's ego in the new firm is demanding all of this? I can barely find my way around the dealer site now.

The problem with this is that a good/great credit rating can be screwed up by this carelessness.

You don't get an invoice, so the bills don't get paid, and they list you as a bad account.

I have a group of products I will no longer sell due to poor service. Rather than bash those that have richly earned the right to be bashed, I would rather commend the brands that have stood up and done what's right.

Draper (as recently as yesterday, on site, one of their sales guys up on a ladder with his sleeves rolled up and his tie loosened)
Request
Crestron
Boston Acoustics

These are the brands that show up in my proposals to customers, because they have earned the right to stay there even when things go wrong.

Optima. They talk the talk but do not walk the walk. It's now one year and we still do not have a poper on code for their projector. New protocol that I shall look at as, has been pointed out elsewhere, their picture/price is quite good.

Niles:
MRZ-6
IPC or Intellipower. I still have units that filed out of the box and cannot be fixed nor will they take them back or offer a credit.

SONY
Units that fail out of the box cannot be returned and must be repaird. Which means that we eat the unit as which of our clients will accept a DOA even if it could be repaired?
