The guy claims he stopped to help the guy. Last I checked that was a good Samaritan thing to do, not a crime.

Most of the criminals in prison right now claim they are innocent.

Not a member of law enforcement? Stay in your car and dial 911. You are not a hero. You are not trained to deal with things like this no matter how many youtube videos you have watched.
Firearms are for hunting, sport and self defense. If you can't "handle" a naked man on the highway without a gun then maybe you shouldn't try.

So here's the facts:

So where did you get your facts? From an article like the one i read yesterday that didn't mention all the details?

This guy was running naked down the road early in the morning:

Was he running? Or is this another FACT?

 photo Jandii.jpg

Then this guy stopped to probably help him:

Are you sure its that guy or is this another of your FACTS?

Duke photo Duke.jpg

So your FACT is "probably" to help him. Could your "FACT" also be "probably" to just shoot him?

Scuffle happens and naked guys ends up getting shot.

So now your FACT is an assumption that there was a scuffle. Not sure you know what FACT means.

Then someone starts yelling racism without knowing all the facts.

Plenty yelling its not racism without knowing all the facts.

I understand, but it's not the wisest thing to do when you see some guy running down the street naked at 5:30 in the morning. If he was bleeding or on fire, that might be different.

My first thought would have been (regardless of skin color) would have been... "Crazy crackhead".

Take a walk down 2nd Ave & Pike Street in Seattle and you will see tons of heroin addicts, and crazy assed crackheads. Am I going to walk up to a crackhead waving his arms around yelling and see if I can help him? Hell no! Nor would I approach a naked guy and ask him for help. I might loan him my shirt to cover up if he told me someone took his clothes but that's about it --- but it would be prudent to get away.

Guys high on crap like that have almost super human strength. I would have dialed 911. Period.

When I'm walking downtown and I spot a crazy acting person, I do all I can to avoid them.

Turning around to "help" the guy... did he have his gun ready when he stopped to "help" the naked sprinter, or was he getting beat-up and ran back to his truck to retrieve his gun and shoot in self defense?

I don't care if they are both white, black, yellow or brown. Bad judgemnent on the shooters part, and I question if he was acting as a good Samaritan. jmo

I guess the driver was blind and didn't realize he himself was black?

He tried to pull over and help this man and god knows what the naked man did to escalate things. The naked man was already in one altercation the same night. If I were to jump to any conclusion, it would be that the naked man is a few french fries short of a happy meal.

So you assume that the driver of the truck is helpful and the naked guy may have escalated things. Who says the naked guy was in an altercation?

IF you were to jump to conclusions? You already have with the sentence where you assumed he was trying to help him.

The conclusion i jumped to was that the unarmed (not even dressed) guy walking or running or break dancing down the road (its the United States where its okay to be on the road FYI) was no threat to a man in his truck with a gun. A man in a truck with a gun who circled back mind you. I am guilty of assuming it was a good old boy but you have to admit it has all the ingredients for southern hospitality in South Florida.

The conclusion you jumped to is that the guy who got shot deserved it. You concluded that the guy who was not a member of law enforcement just must have had a legitimate reason to confront and shoot someone. "He must have stopped to help him". But somehow he ended up shooting him? Those two are nowhere near being related. Doctors help people. How many have you heard of that shoot their patients?

I agree, if he stopped to *help* him that changes the entire perspective of the story. I'd still like to know under what circumstances it became necessary to shoot an (apparently) unarmed naked man in the stomach, but anything is possible.

Because thats how men with guns help you. They shoot you.

I don't know, I'd put it about on par with rawstory, bias-wise. Someone who watches fox news wants to see the red spin. You want to see the blue spin.
In my opinion, you're being incredibly judgemental and one-sided. It's fine to rail the right for the same kind of thinking, but you yourself can display some of the worst and you're just bringing the truth. Typical.

No you pretty much painted yourself into a corner bringing up the remark about being a Democrat. Pretty much a dead giveaway.

You were insinuating that the poster was an evil Liberal. Who was going to defend the victim without getting all of the facts.

I don't want any spin. Sorry but judgmental isn't the right word for when someone calls FOX News Faux News or Fake News. Aware of reality is a better description. These guys are caught time and again doing things like photoshopping protestors into places they never were or using footage from one thing to make it look like another has a lot of support. It's sad that they have to manufacturer news but thats what happens when you cater to a small fringe minority of crazy people.

Again, more conclusion jumping. I am a republican, but that doesn't mean I listen to talking heads. Feel free to stereotype however. Whatever you need to do to make yourself feel like you're on the only right side.

I'm incredibly thankful that you and stamp are not in public office. Were it up to you, anything anyone watched, listened to, or read would have to be personally vetted and approved. Hmmm. That sounds familiar.

You may want to let Nielsen know that their ratings system continually records and reports results contrary to your perception of reality...
