When God created the earth did he decree that all remotes would have the channel buttons on the right side of the remote and the volume buttons on the left????

My God, get over yourself....if that is the only reason why you don't sell RTI, that's pretty F'd up!

I think it's the best handheld remote I've ever seen, it feels real good in the hand, love the swipe feature. Think I might keep this one for me!

Perfect combo of buttons and touchscreen. I despise touchscreens for everyday couch-potato action. I know my favorite channels by heart and can just punch in the numbers.

Didn't RTI used to OEM remotes to Crestron? Or was that URC?

It was URC and as far as i can tell they still do. [Link: crestron.com]

Mentioned above...if this remote had color buttons and a few more transport buttons it (and the MX-850) would be the best non-touchscreen remotes on the market.

Right now IMO this is the best [Link: rticorp.com]

it is the only remote that has the buttons in this configuration! i am not sure God made this decree but it is WIDELY accepted.

I have not sold them for years. That is not the only reason, but absolutely on the top of the list. I support the hundred or so i have in the field and would use a new one to replace, but that is it. I sell Procontrol 24.z then crestron, that is it.

the procontrol is virtually the exact remote in not as sexy form factor and without the mindblowingly stupid button position. it has swipe feature, joystick, etc. i have said it since i put one in my hand months ago, it is the perfect remote, the rti is just a nicer design of basically the same remote.
I love supporting product that supports me!

are you kidding?

-swipeable touchscreen
-4 multipurpose buttons under screen
-navigation buttons in middle
-transport controls below that
-numeric at buttom
-2way

they are virtually identical! of course the rti has a premium finish as it should. like a nissan pathfinder and infinity jx35.

im not saying i wouldnt rather use the t2x over the 24.z. im saying the instant i put the 24.z in my hand, i knew it was a perfect remote in regards to function. its only fault i found was no hard list button, not really a big deal. before the 24.z there was no other handheld that came close to the perfect layout.

we sell the 24.z for single room systems with DTV, Yamaha RX-A, even with a little RA, Serena, DSC, etc. it is winner winner chicken dinner. trust me. ANYTHING above and beyond that, we move to Crestron. This model has been extremely succesful for us this year.

I think RTI pooped the bed with one major aspect of this remote.

Has anyone tried lifting one out of the charger yet?  The charger uses some new multi-pin connector that holds tension when docked.  When you lift the remote, the charger comes with it!  I brought this up to the RTI guys at Cedia and they didn't think it was a problem.

Please let them know that this is a MAJOR problem.

So is the no HOME button thing.

+1 It was the first thing I noticed at CEDIA. You have to 2 hand it just to get it out of the charger. Not a deal breaker for me but not good either.
how in the hell does ernie make money?

To be honest it looked like a prototype at CEDIA. The finish of this remote is nowhere near as nice as the T2-C. We were joking about putting a drywall screw through the charger to hold it in place and the RTI guy just laughed.

+1

It looked and felt cheap compared to their older stuff.  I hope they get enough pushback from dealers to make an inline production modification.
