I had written a response, let it sit for five minutes and then removed it- don't want to lose my Sonos dealership. Although I have been selling Vortex Box more and more- 4 streams for $450--

I can't find "IP", what is the actual forum name?

I thought it was integration pros but I logged in and did not see anything related. But I do not think I can view all the forums there....only the public ones....last time I tried to register I never heard back.

to view it and most anything else worth reading you would need to be registered.

I've tried the Vortexbox route and am not having good luck! They keep failing! Out of three, 2 have had problems and one of them was from Small Green Computers. Very frustrating! Had a customer call one of my guys about it not working just this morning.

I'm sure it will be some sort of wireless surround sound. Not sure if it will be receiver based or something else. I would prefer it to be wireless outdoor speakers. That would be ideal for the "Sonos" customers.

what is this Vortx Box that you speak of? have more info do you?

It can be troublesome, like the other day when I uploaded Designer 8.3 it locked out my vortexbox. I had to update the firmware on the xp-6, reboot everything and then it worked. One thing I keep noticing- If they don't press stop when they are done listening to it, the next time they use it, it skips and freezes up, skips like a skipping record. I built in a stop command for the whole house off feature on the T2C+, waiting to see if that works in the long run..

Imagine Sonos made a version like the apple tv and streamed a/v? that would be good and bad at the same time.

I would just like to see a zone player with HDMI video out, Analog & Digital audio out and IR input for basic navigation using third party control.

I don't care about video streaming, I'd just want the HDMI out to display the Sonos GUI on a TV with IR remote control navigation (like Apple TV).

With the Sonos controller going away, it would be nice to have another interface option other than the apps.  I could sell one of these with every job, and would probably sell at least one to all my existing Sonos customers.

To me, this is the big missing piece in their lineup...

I'm a little miffed I haven't been invited. Pretty sure I'm the highest volume Sonos dealer in my area, except for maybe Best Buy.
