The network/RS-232 interface is a lot cheaper than with standard Ra, that I like.

This is suppose to happen with the new devices.

how are they suppose to pay for all of their lavish contractor outings cough, cough, I mean training.

Hey Hey, ive been to the lutron training center in Coopersburg P.A.....Very Nice and good food if i might add.

And the training was quite helpful.

so if I keep getting treated like that im going to keep buying their products....Now I know why Pfizer got fined all that money, Lord only knows what kind of outing's I mean training those doctors got

;)

Kidding aside I am very excited about the new RA system. Especially the computer programming. And yes they are a bit on the big headed side their but their knowledge, support & quality of product goes a long way. I think they are allowed a bit of arrogance, I even brought a can of grease to help get the tour underway....was afraid we wernt going to get the engineer guy out to let us by haha

Did anyone else notice the "Keypad with integrated dimmer". Finally.

I have to wonder how this product will compare to HW Wireless. Yes, I know HW can do much more, but the wireless proc is limited compared to a 4 or 8 (no CCO for example). But it seems like this product might work for some cases where HW was used due to the limitations of RA, but was still overkill for the project.

I also wonder how many keypad options they will have with RA2 and will dimmers be able to act as controllers.

I don't believe the price will go down. The "entry level" SR pricing isn't much cheaper than the standard RA so if anything it will go up with the new RA 2. Plus how are they suppose to pay for all of their lavish contractor outings cough, cough, I mean training.

I've heard from a reliable source that 600w dimmers will be within $10 of C4 dimmers.

Radiora2 website up - no details of the programming software.

radiora2.com

For some reason, google doesn't find it yet. But google finds blog posts detailing radiora2 that were posted last night.

I doubt that dim levels are available with polling - would have been mentioned, somewhere.

I'm a little surprised it's not a mesh network.

That looks to be true! That's awesome and now I won't ever have to look for other cheaper solutions.

It's not in the brochure or on the website, most likely only HW compatible.

This looks like a giant leap from Ra. My concern is if it will be whored out to anyone with a pulse like Ra is now...

aaargh, just completed RA Safe Entry in my newly moved in home. Wife is getting a hang on garage remote, no complaining so far. I guess will have to pull them out for RA2 once training comes to town.

No wonder @V@d were giving discounts on L&tron products on top of discount of URC on the same ticket.

Vince is right, I'll be whoring RA to guests this wknd. :)

Thank you Vincent!
That is exactly what is going to happen. RA2 will be at every electric supply warehouse at new low price. Kiss your margins goodbye and be prepared to lose a whole lot of bids to trunk slamming electricians. I'm sure there will be a lot less HomeWorks sold so the cost of manufacturing will go up in that arena.
Either way we will get screwed. We are not Lutrons target market.

The PC software will scare most of them away.
