Nice! I think the on-screen GUI menu and the quick source select/power on is a great addition to the lower models.

Sounds like the lower end models are pretty stacked.

How about some info that makes the higher end (3310 and up) worth the upgrade.

Is there a comparison chart yet.

Just to play devils advocate but you dont want the entry receiver to have every option. It makes selling the upper receiver just for W/ch a tough sell.

Thanks for always being available Matt!

Corey, I just saw a post form Matt on IP that said there was a comparison chart at the ci site

OEX, i'm not sure, but it almost sounds like all models will convert up to HDMI, good question about if its HDMI only or HDMI & Component. Also, they still have there composite and S-video inputs =)

I understand the change is
2809 is now 3310
3808 is now 4310
4308 will be 4810 in fall

The GUI over HDMI across the board is big, people love to see that volume bar

oex,

Sorry to hear about your problem w/ you know who.

The UpConversion on DENON works as follows on all models:
Note: any of the input signals below will allow for the outputs listed to be active simultaneously.

Composite in= Composite, S, Component and HDMI out
S in= Composite, S, Component and HDMI out
Component in= Component and HDMI out
HDMI in= HDMI out

Denon doesn't have a $600 AVR, but we do have one at $549MSRP and $849MSRP.

$549
3 assignable Component inputs
4 assignable digital (2 coax/2 opti)
3 assignable HDMI

$849
Same number of Component and digital audio's
Gains 1 more HDMI (4 Total)

There are of course other feature to mention, some will have to wait unitl the products release.

I hope this is helpful.

Just for some prelim info:

The 3310CI allows for Music stream, Internet Radio, Rhapsody, Napster, Remote Access, Control over IP/232, new advanced GUI, 10 bit Video.........

I will release more info in about 2 weeks...

Oh, the site that was mentioned is approval based only. We track registration against our CI training program or by invite only. All others will be removed, Sorry.

Matt, thanks for the wealth of good info.
Two questions,
1. What's the difference between 3 digit models that I get from my A$I disty like the 989 vs. the 4 digit models avail at BestBuy for example? Is it just a marketing thing so clients can't easily price beat (I mean shop) me, or are there other differences?
I ask because it seems like most of units we discuss here are 4 digit ones, and I don't know if CIs have access to them thru different channels or if A$I is out of the loop on supplying correct units.
2. You mentioned training and access to the CI Denon site. How can I become CI certified dealer? PM me if you don't want to post in public.

Thanks,
Mario

Can you acess ALL tuner functions (tune+,- and mem) from zone 2/3 if zone 1 is off or set to another source?

That's almost my final gripe with Denon.

THIS is good news!

All in all, the new guys look about as feature packed as can be. Thanks Matt.

1. The 3 digit models do not offer Rear IR inputs and do not offer CI feature sets.
The 4 digit models offer CI features such as IR lockout and front panel lockout to name a few.
2. If you are interested in becoming CI certified, you may want to look into the CRAVE program from ADI.

I hope this is helpful.
