After updating Epson 7500 UB projector to software V1.06 I was able to get a discrete "Off" command (IR), but the "On" command is still just a power toggle. (I am using the IR commands from RTI master list). Anybody been able to get a Discrete "ON" IR command?

I can't believe the discretes are gone.

Probably have to use 12v trigger & power sensing module

Or use RS232.

Big screw-up to forget discrete codes when your previous projectors had them on the remote.

I believe that Epson left the "On" command as a toggle to avoid shipping new remotes. But it takes TWO presses of the "On" button to turn it off ... So "On" "Exit" ought to work for a "discrete" on.

It works fine. You don't even have to hit exit if you don't want to (all that does is make the on screen prompt go away a smidge faster).

Since it takes 2 on commands to make it go off, it would be difficult to accidentally turn off. And now that there is a discrete off, that solves the problem with the previous FW.

I can't think of a macro scenario where this would be a problem (with the new 106 FW). While its not as perfect as last years 7500ub discretes, I say hooray to Epson for listening!
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

I too had to do the firmware upgrade..105,106, and supposidly they have a 107.
My question is have you had the delay issues when switching from source to source, and also from standard def to HD channels on cable? Epson has said that R & D is working on it, but until I've had the fun in trying to explain a customer why you lose a picture for 15 seconds when you go from one game (HD) to another game in standard def. Not fun.

I just updated to FW and I got the IR code for Discrete OFF. Anyone know how I can change this to Pronto Hex?

TIA

Ok. Does anyone have the Discrete power off for the 1080?

The IR codebase for the 7500 is:
Custom Code: 8355h
NEC
Function 91h

I'm probably doing something dumb here, but I tried pasting this into the IR code box in ProntoEdit NG. I could not get it to power off my Epson UB6500 (firmware 1.09). After the paste and click "OK", when I go back and look at the IR string in the IR code box it shows:
900A 006D 0000 0001 8355 916E

Am I doing something wrong, or is it different for the 6500 vs 7500?

That is correct.
NG will automatically shorten the Hex Code for NEC1 Codes.

Am I doing something wrong,

No.

or is it different for the 6500 vs 7500?

Could be!

Post a Learned Hex Code for the Power Toggle and I will check it for you!

Cheers
Jason

PS. Check this Thread, Post 4.

Jason, thanks MUCH for the response. I tried the code sequence in your Post 4 reference and it worked for me! However, I also discovered the 7500 sequence above would also work with multiple presses. In limited experimentation, it is entirely possible that the 7500 sequence was simulating the Power Toggle. Or perhaps it's discrete success is intermittent? Beyond me. But again, in limited testing, the Powerlite code seem to be working.

Anyway, here is my 6500 power toggle:
0000 006D 0044 0022 0155 00AB 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0615 0155 00AB 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0615 0155 00AB 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0015 0016 0615
