I got sore today. We are finishing up a decent sized rough-in. We had to cut 6 speakers into the T&G on the patio. Of course it has already been finish coated, so we decided to cut them in from above to avoid messing up the finish. Yeah. One of them was in a corner with 2 pitches ending there. Tight spaces. One handed, no look jigsaw skillz to the rescue. But my back, knees, shoulders, and neck will feel it tomorrow. Cake day tomorrow, then back to rough in on wednesday to dress the head end/can. My favorite part of pre-wire.

I sent out 3 proposals yesterday, received a signature on one of them right away. Then went snowboarding at Beaver Creek for the afternoon.

Drove the wife to work this morning, and got to see all sorts of wrecks.

Roads weren't really all that bad. But so many idiots drive like it's just a typical sunny summer day, then when they come upon the slippery slopes, the shit hits the fan.

Driving on an icy road and tailgating isn't such a good idea.

I was going the speed limit on a two lane hi-way and a guy in a black chevy truck turning left from a side street tried to smash my new vehicle. Hit the horn, gas and did a gentle move to the right riding the edge of a snow bank.He just missed my bumper.
My dog looked at me like "you got this" and laid back down.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Really to wonder how people like that have managed to survive...

Most all the traffic was doing around 50 on the highway this morning, and then here comes this fool running at least 70, with some other fool no more than 15 feet behind him.

As the highway takes the long sweeping turn, it goes over a LONG bridge.

They both lost it. One hits the left guard rail, the other hits the right rail.

Everyone, including me, just eases by.

I have been battling a gnarly flu. Came down with it Saturday and hit me on Sunday like a ton of bricks, Been battling 102 fever and just today I was able to stay further then 10ft from the bathroom and eat something.

This all comes during the busiest week I have had since the holidays with a long list of very upset and pissed of customers.

One lady yesterday told me how disappointed she was and told me I should have more people on staff, another customer said that they would be looking for another company to service them quicker. Another client offered to send soup

Its tough being an owner operator sometimes. I certainly can understand how young children or elderly could pass away from something like this. Its been bad :(

Dude that sucks. Just think a week with unhappy clients beats an eternity of dealing with employees. Mine are good but still a bunch of drama.

Get well. Time to catch up on that "me" time and relax.

I bought a van in 1999 on a Friday. It sat parked in my driveway until Monday morning. On the way in some @ss hat slammed into the front end of it. They slid through a stop sign in the rain.

Every time the news reports on one of the 50+ car pile ups you will find half the people telling everyone to slow down and the other half making excuses for trying to speed through a snow storm. Idiots.

Brendon, here's one you may relate to.

This afternoon we went by our favorite restaurants, and the owner and I talked a bit he told me about how yesterday went during the storm.

Yesterday around 6pm he took a good sized order that was to be delivered, and since the delivery driver took an hour to get across town, the "lady" called several times and told him he needed to hire better delivery people.

Mind you, this delivery happened while we were on the receiving end of this snow and ice storm.

He just thanked the "lady" for her business, and told he to be careful durin this bad weather event.

So, maybe you can "kill them with kindness", by stating you didn't want to take any chance with their health, by giving them this terrible flu that you have.

Or...

Just tell them what asses they are, and that you have no desire to work for someone so utterly ignorant.

I had the flu last year, it sucked big time.
I had a 12 hour stomach virus a few days ago, it was short but intense, almost as bad as the flu. I looked like a zombie, broke the bloodvessels on top of my eyes and all underneath was yellow / gold like black eyes, all from power puking.

Im currently in a hotel room in atlantic city, took a couple days break for 10 year anniversary.

As for the clients, id thank the soup lady somehow, either a card or discount or whatever you feel isnt tacky.
The other clients, and the lady who complained about delivery time: I sometimes am not politically correct but thats a benefit of being the boss. Besides choosing which 80 hours a week I work, I can choose to fire clients. I would call them out on the spot and make them feel like a complete moron. Homey dont play.

Digging my way through a bunch of speakers to repair. SOme things are built without ease of repair in mind. Poor engineering & design. Arrrggggghhhh

Uh, sir, this is Bruce... sorry but I cannot repair your speaker!
